Trusty Dr. Leshin has a good introductory essay, as usual, www.ds-health.com/constip.htmAnd some people have favorable things to say about pear nectar. Lots of threads discussing this problem in the past. You might want to browse or search older posts. -- Good luck, Bob, dad to Charlie, who has a number of issues but is a pretty regular guy

I highly recommend either pear nectar or apricot nectar. Worked like a charm for my girl!

Pears and Pineapple babyfood. I read all the babyfood labels and this one had the most fiber. also plenty of liquids. I also used to lay my son on his back and move his legs in a bicycle motion. You may wish to check into tummy massage.. an expert can help with deep massage that mimicks the action of the colon.

Yes... we used Kern's Pear Nectar... worked wonders! We never really have had a prob with constipation ever but back when Russell was around 2 or 3 ish.... he had a month or so where he needed some help.. and that did the trick!

Prunes work too but I don't like them much and sometimes you can have gas with them. Apricots tastes better and they work sometimes. These are dried fruit though. My grandmother used to drink prune juice Ugh! for her problem. I don't think your child would like that much. Apricot Nector sounds better.

Organic pear juice works for Maggie. We also add pear "sauce" to her oatmeal and dinner at times. She hasn't had a problem since we started all that.
Good luck! Robin - Maggie's mom
