Poor Little Lethy!
She has pneumonia again. I know you all struggle with health issues far beyond ours, I just feel so badly for her.
Last year she had pneumona then croup not long after it. This is our first case this year, day in the ER yesterday and finally on antibiotics.
Funny how this one came about...a slight cough Thurs night, fever Friday night, high fever Sat, doctor Sunday with full blown pneumonia!
Say a prayer for my little girl!

Ohhh...I hope she feels better soon!
My neice has pneumonia too....they just went to the Ped Fri. Her Ped suggested using a flu medicine along with the antibiotic. It will not "cure" the pneumonia but he said it would help her "feel" a little better. My sister says she is playing and says she feels ok as long as she's on the flu med, but once the flu med wears off she's miserible again. So as long as my sis keeps up with the flu med, she's ok. Has your Ped recommended any flu med? Maybe that would help her feel a little better? Worth checking with your Ped.....it's so sad when kids are sick. I always feel so bad for them. I hope she's well again soon. Good luck.

So sorry for that little one! Haley has had pneumonia lots. This weekend we were both recovering from the flu and went to see her Dr. because of her cough (always afraid of pneumonia) I felt like total crap and asked the dr to listen to my lungs (felt like a ton of bricks on my chest) she said we both were fine. If I felt that crappy w/o pneumonia Holy Holy how horrible it must feel to really have it! Prayers for a speedy recovery going out!

My 7 year old had pneumonia last week. It seems to be going around. His symptoms were similar to Alethea's...he seemed to have "just a cold", then it suddenly got worse. He was breathing rapidly, having trouble breathing, that's what worried me, so I brought him to the hospital. Anyway, he got antibiotics, prednisone, and an inhaler to use. He was a lot better within 24 hours. I hope Alethea is feeling better just as quickly!!!

Susan,
There is a fine line between wanting them "up and running soon" and well...feeling better would be just fine!
Actually, Alethea slept through the night last night for the first time in about 5 nights and then took a 4 hour nap today. Wowzie Zowzie after her nap, we all needed one. She woke up running and telling us the way it was!
We'll see how she is in the morning!

Back to the doc for a re-check. It seems the pneumonia has spread to her other lung and now she is wheezing. She had a low-grade fever today and was absolutely miserable this morning. All this after yesterday seeming to be back to normal.
The doc doesn't seemed concerned. So, I guess I shouldn't either. He changed her meds because she won't take what the ER doc prescribed and increased her breathing treatments!
Hopefully we'll see some improvement tomorrow.
