I know this has nothing to do with DS, but this is the most read area and want to get my message out. Yesterday, we went to the Middletown Memorial Day parade. Al is a member of the Knights of Columbus and they march in it. This year Ryan was in the parade too! He rode in a pick-up truck with one of the other Knight's daughter and the American flag. He loved it b/c he got to throw candy at the kids. I got such a kick out of him - he enjoyed it so much! I was alone on the side watching the parade with my sleeping beauty and I have to say my heart felt that it would burst. I am so proud to be an American! So to any of you who may have served or are serving or have relatives who may have or are serving I just want to say "THANK YOU!" Please pass my appreciation along! I have the deepest love and respect for all who serve our country and am in awe of your sacrifices. Everything we enjoy about living in this country is because of you. May God bless and protect you! Hope you all enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend!

That was a very nice post, Cbean. My brother-in-law is serving in Iraq right now and it's so tough to see my sister and her kids deal with him not being home. We miss him too, he's the closest friend that Brian has here in Michigan. Did anyone happen to watch the show "Operation Homecoming" last night on TLC? OMG - I bawled through the whole thing. Heartwrenching stuff there. It's sad that we are sending our guys and gals over there, how much they are sacrificing and that some do not come home the same way they were sent off. Jessie

Thank you Christine. My cousin died in Iraq a year and a half ago. Before this happened it was so easy to be removed from the war and what was really going on. Thank you for remembering all who have served and are serving now. I know I will never take my freedom and wonderful life for granted again.-Heather
