So, we've been on again off again... ever so slowly making progress. Last week was not too great - lots of accidents I took Ryan to an information fair on Sunday. I knew it was possible that he might have an accident but kept the undies on. We had to park a ways from the fair (hint - that's important to know for later). Soooo - we are walking from booth to booth and there is one booth that has a rice/bean activity where the children "dig" for treasures. Ryan squats and starts sifting through the stuff and finds a great little toy. As soon as he stands up, I can see the wet pattern on his pants. I think to myself "this is going to be a long walk - bad planning" I stand up and my mom whispers in my ear "he's wet". Yeah, I know. Then, the lady at the booth said, "excuse me, but do you KNOW where the bathrooms are???" Now maybe I'm being overly sensitive but hmmmmm did she really think I was just dragging him around with wet pants??? Geeze!!! Anyway, we both survived LOL! It's funny, he had about 6 accidents on Sunday and then only one yesterday and one today. It's weird how hit and miss it is, but it is s l o w l y getting better . The more this happens, the more I think it's physical. Ryan has been priding himself on being dry, and often tells me he is dry. The only problem is - sometimes he's wet!! LOL gotta love him - he's trying!!

Hang in there. Lia is 6 and we did the potty training thing last summer when she was 5. The only thing that worked was to put her in underwear and let her get wet. She still has accidents- though less often now. But she uses the pants wetting as a tool. If she is mad or wants to go home. Until a few weeks ago she was wetting them daily at school, usually when they pushed her to do more work. At home it happens when she is outside playing too long. IF we are taking a long car trip I will still put a pullup on as she will tell you she has to go to get out of her carseat. Good luck

You're doing great! What was with that woman? No duh your kid is wet I am seriously thinking that Carter will get potty trained along with Sydney and get it all over with at once. I just don't think he's ready yet even though he does show several signs of readiness.

We're doing the potty thing now, so I have to post whenever I see it mentioned ! LOL Erin just turned five & she is doing pretty well with it. THough it is a far cry different from potty training her brothers !! Sometimes we have the same pattern of great days & totally off days ! I blame myself more than her, because at this point.....she'll stay dry as long as she can & then I have to get her to the potty ! She doesn't initiate as much as I like......and again.....probably my fault.....I think we have to take that "backward step" of accidents, etc so that she has a chance to initiate rather than me just putting her on all the time. I for one didn't expect her to be anywhere near trained yet,so I am thrilled with what we have ! By the way,,,,,we seem to do BETTER in public.....she'll cry when has has to go, but at home if she has an accicent....it isn't a big deal to her at all ! Good luck & stick with it !

When did your kids begin to start acting interested in using the potty? I have no intention of trying to start training, yet, but there have been times when Nicholas will try to PLAY in the toilet (Like ALL kids! ) and I've tried to sit him on it a couple times just for the heck of it. He won't even let his legs touch the seat. We have a potty chair, too, and same thing there. Usually he loves to sit on things that are just his size, but he avoids this at all costs! Like I said, I don't expect him to begin potty training anytime soon, just wondered when they might be interested.
