Ethan opened a door that we didn't know he could open and got outside this morning. It took me a couple of minutes to find him, and I died a thousand deaths in those minutes. I'm still shaking. Wonder what the baby thought of that shot of adrenaline?
So, I'm sitting here with the yellow pages open to fencing companies. I know we've had this discussion before, but my brains are FRIED. Wasn't there a particular type or size of fence you guys recommended?

Yes Laura a very, very tall one!!!!!!!!! ;)We're thinking about the vinyl privacy 6 ft, I'm afraid if we went with the wood one because it's treated and with the chance of splinters and Justins' VSD. He learned last year to climb the cyclone one GRRRRRRRRRRR or drag something over to it and climb over and the neighbors have a pool and never put the ladder up and the neighbor behind us and on the other side both have open yards. Justin is forever finding ways around the locks, Robin where are you where did you get the lock thats on your storm door. We just have the hooks right now, but the doorwall has an awesome lock with a key but they don't make it for regular doors . Hugs and know I'm right there with you, technically I should be a twig by now LOL and Miss Clairol is not keeping up too well either LOL

I am no help with the fence issue, but I will take notes for when Russell truly notices the lower fence in our backyard and we need a higher one. I don't know if I'd want to experience what you did while pregnant! You poor thing!!!!!! There ARE some of those door thingys that you put on each door and it will sound if it's opened. That might help too? Good luck!!!!! A.

Oh Laura, that sucks! That feeling is just awful.
We have been surviving without a fence, but now that it's getting warmer out, we are looking at getting either a 6 or 8' privacy fence for the backyard. Right now we just have alarms on the doors.
Good luck!!!

Oh boy, do I know that one, lol. We have a fence in the backyard, but not the front, and the front is usually where she escapes from. We did put one of those doorknob dohickys on there so she cant open it now. My main problem now are windows. Bought one of those window/door alarms for her bedroom and the one side fell off during the night, setting the alarm off (they work when the magnetic connection is broken) and I almost stroked out thinking she had opened the window. I was quite relieved when I saw her sleeping slumped over peacefully thru this super loud high pitched alarm - she never broke a snore, lol. I could NEVER imagine being pregnant again and going thru these changes, ;D Good luck!

Laura, Yes, Robin & I have talked about fencesROFLOL I know it isn't funny while its happening! Although Robin suggested a 6' fence, we built a 5' one & put the locks on the outside of the fence. It means that you must reach over the fence to get out. It has worked so far. John-John will be 6 this summer. I can, AFTER I find John-John safe ;D, make comments like "he'd never walk a line for his PT, but he did very well on the yellow line down the street." I know sick humor. I think it's how I handle the scary moment. Pat

What a scary experience!!! Sorry I can't help you with the particular brand or type of fence......I've wracked my brain, but can't come up with it. I do remember having discussions here about it too! Susan

Welcome to the club! now that Ricki is older she doesn't run away except to the neighbors to watch computer if I won't let her. They DO grow up! (But in the meantime buy that fence!)
