afternoon all;
Well, this really isn't related to Eric...but it is about my granddaughter, Tori, who lives with us. My daughter has her in a crib, (she just turned two), but she is climbing out. She bought her a toddler bed, but she will NOT stay in it...wanders around the room, etc. Since we have steps, we keep the door to her bedroom closed, but now she's figured out how to open that. And she's climbing over the gate at the bottom of our steps. She's like Houdini...I never saw a kid get out of soooooo many barriers. She's already fallen down the steps (her mom was holding her..they both fell when they lost their footing) and broke her leg. For now, my daughter lets her sleep with her in her bed for fear she will get into trouble, but thats not good for either of them. ANY SUGGESTIONS? (duct tape has been mentioned, LOL)..........................Dolly

Dolly~ The first thing that comes to my mind would be the little round things you can get (made by First Step, I think) that go on the door knobs. They have to be squeezed tightly together in order to turn the door knob, and little hands are too small to do it. At least that would keep her inside the bedroom with her mom for a while........I have no idea how to keep her in her toddler bed! We have been so bad about letting our kids just sleep with us, and we don't regret it really.......but it sure does become habit forming!! Susan

Ok this is extreme but we have friends who took the bedroom door and sawed it in half. They then attached molding to the top(no splinters) That way their child can't get out and they can still know what's going on in there. Not sure if this will work for you as she is climbing over gates but the door should be a little tougher!
