Help?
Help. Ciarra has never tolerated heat or cold very well, it is getting so bad here that we are getting extremely concerned. Ciarra had recess outside yesterday and walked to her 1-1 and collapsed into her arms. They carried her in and she fell asleep for 4 hrs. Our spec ed Head teacher, who I adore (Mrs Z) asked the sped director, who I aslo adore
(Beth) to consider an ac for the room C is in. She said no. Now, this is a brand new school, and there is ac in most of the offices, in the sped directors office, the main office, the teachers lounge, the library, and the computer lab. It MUST run through the school. Meaning, it is a matter of flipping a switch and ac can be in her room. Her teacher is even offering to bring one from home I have called everyone I can think of, the Principal, the nurse, school doc, our ped and cardio, the superintendent. They all want to help, but can only make so many concessions. Ciarra has bad asthma and a hole in her heart that hasnt yet healed. She is on a nebulizer and antis prophalactically. I gave her the neb this morning before school, we usually do it at bedtime. It helped a little. They also kept her in for recess, she got to go to the pc lab and play a game. But...she CANT be taken out of the class when she overheats, its NOT "least restrictive" and she isnt LEARNING. Im at my wits end. When I picked her up yesterday, she was hard to wake up. My Ped asked me if she sweats, I told him no, and he wants to see her Monday. So now Im wondering what the heck is up with no sweat? Im really worried.
