Hi all! I have a question. I have tried just about everything in the world to get my daughter to take vitamins. We have tried chewable, gumball, liquid, candy and hiding them in food. My daughter can detect every one of them. She has gone as far as holding the vitamin under her tongue and spitting it out when I am not looking. Should I worry about giving her vitamins? She is 4 and pretty darn healthy. She eats a ton of fruit and meat but will not eat vegitables. I was just wondering if giving up on the vitamin thing would put me into the "negligent mom" catagory.

Hey Natalie!
Welcome, it's a great site, isn't it? I just answered your email and I wanted to come on here and welcome you personally.
We couldn't get Jordan to take any vitamins until she was 5, it was a liguid then but shortly after she cooperated with the Flinstone Chewables.
Good Luck! Angie and Jordan

I wouldn't worry about it. Just include me in that "negligent mom" catagory.

Well, Paige will chew the vitamins, but it's mom that forgets to give them to her , so I guess you can put me in the "negligent mom" category too !! Nutrivene - D - I have not personally used Nutrivene for a variety of reasons. I do know people that use it and swear by it, and I know people that used it and stopped for various reasons. So I have no working knowledge on that. Debbie

Camille--- Benn there done that with the Nutrivene-D Kourtney was on it for the first 2 years of her life and then it got to the point where it was so expensive and she would not take it anymore not matter what we tried to hide it in...I never knew if there was a difference in er or not it really did nothing, she is a good eater and takes a chewable now and is very health and moving along great in life...If she would just slow down a litlle bit. Good luck with the Nutrivene-D if you are choosing to go that route. Michele

We have a hard enough time with getting Sarah to eat that I decided it wasn't worth fighting with her to take Nutrivene-D. It is very expensive and I am just concerned that most of it will be eliminated when she urinates. That would be some very expensive pee pee! As far as I know, there aren't any serious side effects. I did sit through a three hour presentation on targeted nutritional intervention but I wasn't sold. If it was that good, there would be more parents raving about the difference it made in their kids.

Here are a couple of websites with information regarding Nutrivene-D: www.nutrivene.com/www.einstein-syndrome.com/ (click on Biochemistry 101; read Cell Biology in DS and What is wrong with Centrum in DS) I am still trying to decide whether or not to try it so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm curious to know what you think about the einstein website and the articles. My son is only 7 months old so I am still learning. Thanks for your help. Camille

Have you tried Gummy Vites? If she likes gummy bears, she'll eat these. I get them at Costco(like Sam's Club) but I'm sure they are available other places. The only ones I can get John-John to eat.

We have just begun trying out a product by Mannatech. Any of you heard of it? It is a gyconutrient and some of the products are like freeze dried fruits and vegetables. We haven't been using it long enough yet to know if it is helping, but fiqure it can't be hurting. Will let you know if I think it does help. The product we give to Keeran is called Ambrotose. He is just 9 months old. Debby
