Hello. Nicky is 16, he has DS, Eisenmengers and pulmonary hypertension. His latest blood test showed that his HB and his platelets are getting worse although he is generally quite healthy and I have not noticed any deterioration in his condition. His sats were also down to 78% but I am sure that is because he used up so much oxygen fighting off the four of us who were holding him for the blood test (does it ever get any easier???) , they are usually in the low to mid 80's in air. Our paediatrician is now waiting to hear from Nicky's cardiologist at Alder Hey so find out if he wants Nicky to have venesection. Have any of your children had venesection and did it work ? PaulineUK ( a very anxious Mum)

Pauline..I too hope Nicky is ok. It isnt fair to have so much wrong, and LOLOL to his sats being low due to people holding him down, that is one smart boy, he knows it is going to hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am really not medically inclined at all, I am always relying on my friend Susan to explain things for me so dont laugh when I ask what a venesection is ok?? What is it? I hope Nickers is doing much better today!!!!! hugs, Robin
