I just ran across this web site as I was trying to find a way to get Emily some Clay Aiken tickets.....she is as big a fan as her mom is!! I had heard he was very active in working with students with special needs, and this site looks interesting.
Check out this site~http://www.thebubelaikenfoundation.org/intro_video.htm

Very interesting! I read the whole website and there's lots to it.
It's so nice that Clay is taking this opportunity to educate others.
I won't tell you that I had no clue who Clay Aiken was until I read the website. I never watch tv!
See ya, Robin M - Maggie's mom

Susan, how wonderful. I knew there was a reason I liked him!! I'm happy to see also that he is partnered up with Best Buddies....they seem to be a great organization. I'm hoping we get a chapter around here one day. Thanks for the post.

Ohhh I have been a Clay Fan since the first day I saw him perform on AI. He got to me when they said what he did for a living BEFORE AI, He was a Camp Counselor at the YMCA for Kids with Disabilities and than he got to start up the Bubel/Aiken foundation. I saw him perform Live when he came here with Kelly Clarkson ( I got 4 rolls of film of him I Loved the COncert!! it was GREAT!! Now in August I get to go see the 10 touring American Idols, 7th Row Main Floor

Thanks Susan...I love Clay Aiken...and have always listened with interest when he talks about his work with special needs....I see that his foundation also gives out grants...this is a great way for some of the things we have all talked here about regarding inclusion and other issues to receive some funding...so pass it along as I intend to do to people in your community and school districts who might be able to make a difference if they have some financial help.

I am more excited than I can say!!! I was at a mall today and heard a woman talking about the Clay Aiken concert, which is next Wednesday evening. She commented that she heard on the radio that tickets were being sold today only for $10!!!!! We headed straight to the place where the tickets were being sold, and got 3 tickets. Emily is SO excited! And LOL so is her mom. Our seats are not anything like Heidi's....I'm SO jealous, but I'm so glad we get to go. Now to find tickets for the American Idol Live concert!

Heidi~ He is performing at a concert arena, rather than a fair. I wanted to get floor seats, but had been told in this arena the seats are better NOT on the floor. I'm going to try to find binoculars cause Em and I are going to want to see him UP CLOSE!! I really really like that guy!! ~ All the American Idol top 10 were on Ryan Seacrest's show the other day and we taped it.......they did a couple of the songs they are doing on tour, and they were great. I'm not even sure if I could pick a favorite, but I do love Amy and Latoya and Jasmine. I've GOT to find a way to go to this concert......just can't handle $47 or more for tickets! At the beginning of the season, I did not like Jennifer Hudson at all, but I had really started to like her by the time she got booted off. I hope she gets a record deal. Yesterday, we bought the new CD's by Fantasia and Diana Degarmo...only 3 songs each, but I've listenend to them over and over. You should hear Emily....she is so excited about seeing Clay!! However, she says she HAS to get his autograph. What are the chances????? Susan

Susan, I am totally excited for the concert, But tickets were pricey here too, I paid $55.00 for them but being ROW 7 I should see really good! FOr some reason its saying No Cameras but Ill still bring mine just in case:) They let us on the Kelly and Clay, I will dig out those pics and email you the really good ones of Clay Chances of getting his autograph were slim here when he performed, Only the people in the first few rows that could reach him got his autograph. People brought in pics and markers and handed them to him on stage and he signed as he sang He was really embarressed about all the Female attention he was getting, he was cute! Be prepared for Tshirts to be high also! I Paid 30.00 for mine so it was a costly night but well worth it!

Oh man Heidi...at this arena, they mean business when they say no cameras!!! We went to a circus there once and Terry had a video camera in Jordan's diaper bag. We didn't really think about it, and he just carried it out as we left the circus afterward. A security guard stopped him and said he was going to have to confiscate the videotape. Terry said "No way! We have family videos of birthday parties, etc on there"!!! The guy got really upset but let us go......it was WAY embarassing. And the only reason he taped anything was so Emily could watch her favorite parts later! I MIGHT consider taking a camera, but no videos for us again.
Your pics from the 7th row will surely be better...so click away!!! We're getting excited.

Clay was robbed! I now boycott American Idol...
That being said it's great to see someone not abandon his passions of the past for those of the present and that he is using his notariety to help kids and adults who need it.

Kristen~ I must say that I agreed with you last year when the American Idol season was over.....I was totally surprised and felt that "poor Clay" was robbed. However, since that time I have felt sorry for Reuben! Clay's career literally took off! He has sold SO many CD's, has been on TV constantly, and has continued to follow his heart regarding to children with special needs. I don't think he feels robbed.....I think he is going to continue to do well in the music business. I know my family will buy ANY CD he puts out!!! ~ Last season, it started feeling like the votes on American Idol were somehow "rigged", and I said I'd never watch again....but I was hooked. And I'm already eagerly awaiting the start of Season 4.
