Since we are also sharing funny "glasses throwing" stories... I will share my all time fav of Russells...
When we lived in our second apartment in IL I had turned on the oven to bake... when I went to put in my food.. RUSSELL's GLASSES WERE IN THERE!!! All cracked and melted and carmalized!!! LMAO! He would sometimes go to the oven and play with the door and once in a while TRY and put a toy in it, but I'd usually catch him... OBVIOUSLY I didn't know he decided to BAKE his glasses....
We took them to the eye doc because he was interested to see how they looked... LOL

oh dear...can I join in on the fun!
Katie loves to throw her glasses... anywhere...anytime. Usually when she is mad, frustrated or just plain tired.
We have been through 7 pairs of glasses in the last year alone.... Today... we got new ones.. any bets on how long these will last?
ROFL... I did get those Flexon frames..maybe these can last more than a month!
Hugs Laurie hope things improve!
Cathy
oops as for your question... I have the opposite problem... when my glasses get to weak.. then I hate to wear them and I start to get headaches. Katie just had her prescription strengthened in APril, but has not worn glasses long enough since (Broke them twice...took 2 months to get replacements.. GRRRRRRRRRRR to the UP) to tell if its the prescription... or behavior that makes her throw them!
Hugs,
me

Adam now 6 has had glasses since he was 18 mths. It was hell for 3 years. We actually thought of hot-gluing them to his eyebrows. ;D (Just joking of course) Now I find he will throw them for attention, because he is mad or just to be a brat. ;D

Paige also has amblyopia and strabismus. She's supposed to have been wearing glasses since 18 months old, but she's also a thrower. We've tried patching as well and she rips them off. Most people told me it was a "maturity" thing, and when she realized they made a difference in what she could see, she would wear them. We just started again now at age 4 and she is much better than she was, although she does throw them still.........now mostly when she's bored or is trying to get attention. In fact tonight, for seemingly no reason she ripped them off of her face and threw them on the concrete and scratched them pretty nicely - they're 4 weeks old I hope for everyones sake our kids grow out of it

I guess I can join in on this fun, too! Aidan has been wearing glasses (or rather...NOT wearing them) for a year and a half or so...he still will NOT wear them full time! And I'm like A...I can't fight with him all day long to keep them on, so we end up NOT wearing them a lot of the time. I do make him wear them (or try to, anyway) during an Elmo movie or something...and he does ok for a 30 minute video or something...but if it's not Elmo, he's not wearin' em! Augh! At school, they try to make him wear them for story time and during his therapies...but they don't have much luck, either. And it's not like the boy has good vision without them on...he is very nearsighted...a -10 in both eyes...you'd think he'd LOVE them! But...NOOOOO! GRRR He's also a great hider and thrower! I had to buy a new pair recently cuz I thought he lost them at school (or hid them)...I was cleaning the couch cushions one day and found them neatly tucked into the corner of the cushion, like INSIDE a little cubby hole....ahhhhh...fun. Don't know what to tell ya...but you are soooo not alone! Staci

Laurie....I cannot tell you how many times we have tore the house aprt looking for Chase's glasses only to find them in DH's pocket in the laundry or in the washer or dryer. LOL he had the bad habit of tucking them in his pocket when Chase would throw them and forget to tell me or remember himself!! And A..LOL to the overcooked glasses! We never had that but we sure did have lots of over baked toys, grrrrrr, these kids are just so dang smart and cool!!!!! LOL hugges, Robin
