Hi guys! I don't know what I was thinking! Brace has horrible issues with getting his hair cut. It is just pure torture for him. He has to be held down, kicking and screaming. The tears just break my heart.. Anybody else have this problem? Not sure if it is fear, sensory or a combo of both... Well, Brace needed his hair cut. I get the big idea to do it at home. I thought maybe it would less tramatic being at home and letting mom and dad do it. Wrong! You ought to see what we did to my child's hair. OMG! It is crooked and the true definition of a home haircut. Bowl on the head....It is sooo bad ya'll. I just hope it grows enough to get it straightened out before his first day of school... What was I thinking?? He is now wearing a ball cap everywhere he goes...It would be funny, if it wasn't so bad. I can't believe I actually thought I could do this....

Don't stress ! Of course it will grow back ! Until then, blame it on the barber shop !! I cut my daughter's hair at home for the same reason... but I have learned that it is a process..... go very slow...usually at a hair dresser / barber..... it's the opposite. You want them to go as fast as possible to shorten the torture ! But, at home... take your time.... do a few snips & stop. I usually take a coupel of days... NOT KIDDING !!! Bangs first..... slow so I won't freak her out. And then we'll be done... no crying... no battles, and she has learned that it's not a big deal when scissors are in my hand. The next day...onto sides & back. Again, don't rush, don't make her be afraid. Then on the 3rd day... I straighten whatever needs to be trimmed. You could do it in one day...start in AM...then in afternoon ... then at bed.... but the point is...not to rush them and freak them out ! It works for us ! It is slower of course, but there are no tears, no holding down. Only cut a TINY bit at a time. If you need to do more later, you can... but if you cut too short, then you have to do the whole thing short to match. good luck in the future ! Do we get to see a pic in the meantime ?!?

OMG, LOLOL Can I relate to this Chris I am sad to say is 11 and still HATES to get his hair cut I have gotten much better at doing it at home BUT OMG I have to share with you that one time when he was in preschool OMG I actually just ran after him around the yard and cut OMG I wish I could show you a photo, talk bout BAD Hair DAY OMG it was the worst cut ever I tell you. And to top it off, it was during the school year Sooo his preschool teach says to me, YIKES what happened to Christopher's hair, LOLOL I said what you mean its the new style, he is expressing himself Really was the WORSE cut he has ever had BUT you know what the good thing bout a bad cut, it ALWAYS grows back.
I say take a few photos and years from now YOU can have a GREAT laugh over this
Really thou it gets better, Chris now lets me cut his hair without Colin holding him ;D Every time Colin gets his hair cut he takes Chris and each time the Barber asks Chris, can I do you hair?? Chris says NOOOOO Thank you, Mom Do, LOLOL But I am sure one day as like anything else he will just sit and let the Barber do, BUT it will be on his terms

;)I am sooooooo sorry that I am laughing right now....I can't help it.. Kourtney really doesn't mind the trimming of the bangs that is as far as I have gone, one time in her 5 years of life I have cut the back of her hair. and she did alright... My sister on the other hand did a REAL hum dinger of a job on my nephew just a few weeks ago...I even asked her which bowl she used..She was not happy and he also became a hat head boy...But, he hates getting his hair cut as well. I have no advice onthis just wanted to let you know that my nephew is still wearing his hat and telling everbody that his mother gave him a boo-boo on his hair. He is 3.. It will grow out soon.... Good luck honey Michele

LOL.. you want me to come over with our clippers? Don't fret too much.. it IS only hair and it will grow back. Russell does NOT like anything like sisscors by his head. But he will let Kevin and I use the clippers/trimmers. So we use a #2 and clip away! Russell and Kevin both use it. Russell's hair is on the thin side so this works best...
You might want to try taking him into a barber shop or use a friends clipper set and just buzz it all. Just a suggestion...

Sarah hates getting her hair cut. It takes both my husband and me to hold her down while the hair stylist cuts her hair. I decided to just let it all grow out but she takes the barrettes and elastics out of her hair and puts them in her mouth. We have it cut very short and most people think she is a boy. Oh well! Anyway, you are not alone. Chris

;D LOL poor Brace! When I think of all the times I posted about Chase getting his hair cut, sighhhhhhhhhhh, it used to take four of us, we even had the neighbor rush into our house one day thinking we were killing the boy and she ended up staying to help hold him down. I am lucky, my mom was a beautician so I wasnt too bad and after 12 years I have gotten alot better! However, the last two haircuts Chase had were ( 8-)drum roll please ) done at the beauty shop with no crying or screaming or holds! He sat calmly holding ::)a whole bag of reese's peanut butter cups that he knew he could tear into once he was done:D I am a firm believer in bribery if all else fails:D:D LOLOL I say if nothing else works, make life easier for yourself!!!! In Chase's case, he has terrible sensory issues with everything from hair to teeth to toenails, fingernails, clothing, etc you name it he has it BUT the good news is with his age it has improved alot!!!!! hugs, Robin
