I was wondering if anyone else can relate to the bottle issue??? Lexy is 15 months old and still doesn't hold her own bottle. I know she can but she won't. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy feeding her for she will be big sooner than I'd like to think, but I'm starting to think it's time. Does anyone have any advice? I know sippy cups should be brought in soon but how can she do a sippy when she can't do a bottle yet? She feeds herself crakers, cookies, etc but not a bottle. Thanks for the advice.

My guess is that Lexy is perfectly capable of holding her own bottle but wants you to do it. Let her play with a bottle filled with water when she isn't in your lap. This is how I found out that my daughter could hold her own bottle. I am kind of embarassed to admit that my 34 month old daughter still gets one bottle before she goes to sleep at night and I hold it for her. Chris

K, this may be soooo NOT the right thing to do BUT I did it and it worked ;D Being I had Kodi before Chris there were times it was tuff to sit with Chris while he drank his bottle and she wanted to do something. Sooooo I actually had this cool car seat that also was like a portable carrier and rocker. Sometimes when Chris was just a tiny guy under the age of one, I would sit him in the carrier by Kodi and I and prop a little towel under the bottle and take his hands and wrap them around the bottle. He seem to catch on rather qucikly that if you want whats in the bottle you have to hold on ;D

I use to do what Christie did with the baby carrier and towel under the bottle thing with Betty, because Ian is a very demanding toddler, I had no choice than to do this. Betty does so much better holding her bottle now than when she was a year old, she didn't have the upper arm strength for it. And even now at 20 months old she sometimes doesn't want to hold because she gets lazy and she knows Mommy will do it !! LOL !! She'll only hold her baba when she's lying down, she does not like to sit up and drink at all !! She's tried a few times with a sippy cup and her juice ended up all over her, she didn't like that at all !!
