Morning all;
Took Eric to the ENT on Thursday to check his ears Eric has an Upper Respiratory thing going on x 10 days...you know, the one with the gobs of SNOT(ugh) and mouth breathing. Well, the ENT wants to get a CT scan to check his sinuses and tonsils, adnoids. He didn't think his tonsils were enlarged, but not so sure about the adnoids. He also mentioned that he thinks his troubles are from allergies. He wants us to pursue allergy testing to see if he's allergic to. His ears actually looked pretty good, with the tiny hole in the eardrum closed up (finally). He didn't think he needs tubes again. Have any of your kids been allergy tested? And if so, what were the results? Are they getting allergy shots and did they help? Hubby and I have been thinking about taking the carpet out of Eric's room and replacing it with laminate wood flooring. We've been reading that carpet and allergies don't go well together. And we're getting our duct work cleaned....we finished our basement last year and the dust is MEGA! Maybe this will help some. But I would appreciate any input you have about allergy testing. Dolly

Dolly, Justin has not been tested but has allergies our oldest was tested about 3 years ago, basically allergic to dust, ragweed. etc. Justin is on allergy meds and asthma meds. You are right about the carpeting and duct cleaning, also you may want to get mattress and pillow covers, they have special ones for allergies, also our pulmonolgist is always preaching to the girls about keeping the closet doors SHUT and NO stuff animals, no window blinds, and curtains, we have valences only and keep them washed also the allergy filter for the furnance. Justin had also had the CT done to check his sinuses, but have to admit since the T/A he has done EXTREMELY well as far as the nasty nose Good Luck
