Dear Uno Mas family, Wondering...anyone out there had their childs tonsils adneoids removed? Or didn't and had reasons why? I just saw Keeran's ( 15 months old) ENT and he recommends he has this done because of these reasons: He has had croup, broncilitis, pneumonia, strep throat, sinus infection and many colds this year. He also has had trouble sleeping, wakes and rolls all night long. some snoring. I asked him what where the negatives, he said it would just be the procedure and that he would stay in the hospital for probably two days, but that doctors have determined that removing them does not really cause any serious side effects to them and in fact my speech pathologist also recommends it. TEXTThank you very much in advance!! :DIn Christ, Debby K

Hi I had my son Timothy's adenoids taken out about a year ago. He was having trouble sleeping and snoring alot like your child. However the surgery did not correct the problem he still wakes up and snores. He only stayed in the hospital for a few hours. We are now considering havig his tonsils taken out because they are also enlarged. hope this is helpful

Justin had his out when he was 2 yrs old. He was hospitalized numerous times in one year because of pneumonia which in turn triggered his asthma. He also had mild sleep apnea which showed up during the sleep study. He stayed over night and was back to his old self the next day . He has not been hospitalized once since, he does still get colds but they are not as bad as before and his sinuses are alot better also.

Kourtney has had hers out for about 2 and half years now, and she also had tubes put in at the same time..It really mad a HUGE difference, she was always having sinus infections and also ear infections along with snoring and restless sleeping. She never stayed over night in the hospital though, it was a day surgery and she came home as soon as she could drink something. So in and out was about 3 hours. Her breath drove me nuts afterwards..When they are healing they get this NASTY case of bad breath. But, once that was over all was good. She just had to have a soft diet and it was really easy.. GOOD LUCK TO YOU !!!
