We went to see the GI surgeon for Kyles checkup today and i told him Kyle was in the hospital last week for pnemonia. He doesnt think that the surgery Nissen didnt work he thinks he has more going on than just that. SO we are having a swallow study done with an ot there and different textures and different liquids thick and thin. I hope this test tells us what is happening. vicki

Vicki, That is what they did with Jordan, and found that he was asperating thin liquids, that is when they put him on thick-it honey texture. The Speech Patholgists was in with us and she seemed to think that Jordan's esophagus was so burnt from the reflux that he had no feeling swallowing and thought it would heal in about a year. Well she was right because he had the nissen done June 2004 and as of the first week in June he has been off of Thick-it and everything is going well NO ASPERATING thank the lord. Im very sure they will find out everything with the video swallow and Kyle will be just fine. Please keep us posted Hugs to Kyle

Kyles test is next wed. The doc yesterday did say that they might have to put a g tube in to get him fatten up just for a short time. But i am hoping to fatten himup by my self. I did change from infant cereal to the thick it. He did gain some when we used that. Vicki

Keep us posted. I thought about Kyle all week. It's almost nice to know he is not aspirating, but at the same time, I'm sure it would have been nice for a diagnosis.
Anyway, keep us posted...
