Thank you to all who kept Joy in your prayers. It has been a rough couple of days. She did fine in surgery, but it's been a real struggle for us to get her to drink and stay hydrated. They ran a lot of fluids into her little body during surgery and in recovery, but she took almost no fluids by mouth between 11 a.m. yesterday and about 1 p.m. today.
We were starting to see signs of dehydration and decided that if she didn't start drinking by early evening, we would take her to the ER. But lo and behold, she decided a little juice might taste good, and then ate a little applesauce. She sipped here and there all evening, and I think she might be on the upswing now. We're still watching her closely, but feel confident she won't have to go back to the hospital.
Tonight she did start saying her tummy hurt, so we're a little worried the hernia repair may be getting infected. We'll keep an eye on it. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers!

Let's hope Joy's day today is much better! Tell her to KEEP drinking! I would think even without any infection her tummy may hurt or be sore.. since that is where they did the repair. Maybe some rest and more fluids will do her little body some good and the soreness will go away soon!
Hugs

Well at least it's all over! Hope Joy has a speedy recovery. Hard to get the little one's to drink but once they get started up again you're usually good to go. Will keep her in my prayers! Don't forget to give us an update!
