I was wondering if this is normal?? Chris was very sick last night out of no where just starting Vomiting, which for him is something he has done very rarely over the years. Anywho each time he vomited it would come out of both his mouth and nose. YUCK I know but Man I have never seen that before Then he seem to gasp for air a bit, then seem OK till it started all over again and the same out the mouth and the nose, YUCK Is that normal?? Anyone ever experience that?? Whats up with it coming out the nose too? Seem different to me He is home, no school for him today a bit drained but better CC ~

Well, from what I can recall with Russell, it's never come back out his nose.. it's usually only his mouth. But I have heard other kids doing this.. not just kids w/DS. Sorry he was sick. Russell's been home too, threw up once two nights ago and had it once out the back end later yesterday... and we have another procedure tomorrow so I kept him home. No fever though... Any fever for Chris?
I hope he feels better!!!

Sorry to hear Chris & Russell are feeling icky!
And yup CC, been there, done that with the vomiting through both nose and mouth!!! Alison in particular will do that. It's even happened to me a couple of times....... NOT fun!!!
The reason it will sometimes come out the nose too, is because with enough force, it can go up through the whole nasopharyngeal opening and then back out through the nasal passages. Doesn't happen to us here too often, but I now know to watch out for signs of sinus infections for a week or so afterwards. Both Alison & I ended up with nasty sinus infections after a bout of one of those lovely stomach bugs last spring!
Hope the guys are both feeling much better real soon!
