Just thought I'd share...tomorrow would have been my dad's 71st birthday. He passed away 4 yrs ago, on Aug 11th, and my parent's anniversary was on Aug 31st. I think about him often, but August seems especially rough.
My older son really looked up to him. He was 12 when my dad died, he was the only one out of the 10 grandkids that wanted to come in the hospital room and see him at the end. Really hard on him.
I believe I've mentioned Nicholas' middle name is after him, David. My ONLY regret about Nicholas is that he was born after my dad was gone. They would have been so great together.
Anyway, sorry to be so maudlin. Just doing a lot of thinking and remembering lately.

<<<<hugs>>>> It is strange how a certain time of year will just open the floodgates of emotions. I'm sorry to hear that this is your particular time of year. and to have ALL the memories tied to this month....it's gotta make you blue. You should plan to take August as your relaxation month.....go on vacation.....forget about household chores and remember your dad, especially with your oldest. I hope your month brightens sooner than later

Hugs to you Valerie! I lost my mother 2 years ago on the day after her birthday, so I understand......and just 2 weeks later was Mother's day. I know your dad would have loved Nicholas. Susan

My thoughts and prayers are with you. My tough month is October. My mother in law passed away on Oct 4th and my husband got laid off on Oct 5th (different years). I try each year to do something special around that time to make those days more positive. Last year, I arranged to have our wedding vows renewed for our 10th anniversary. I know my mother in law would have been so happy we have been married so long.
I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks, everyone! I'm really OK, like I said, just doing a lot of remembering lately. I miss him an awful lot. Sounds like a lot of you know exactly what I'm talking about. Hugs to all of you, too!

AWWWW!!!! I know exactly what you are talking about too. I would say that end of may through end of july are a big time of reflection for me as well. At any given time I can be really happy or really NOT!
