My husband is down to one of two people for a job in Kentucky. As a kid, I never moved, as an adult I've moved only twice....this would be a HUGE move.
I'm wondering if any of you have recommendations on how to find out about "things" in another state. I'm very nervous about schools, not only for JT, but for our two older children. Then there are the issues of neighborhoods, therapies, Dr's, the more I think about it the more I can add to my list of unknowns.
Thanks! Dawn

Dawn, I don't have info on different services, but I just wanted to tell you this.
I have lived in the same small town in Iowa my whole life except for 3 years that we lived at Ft. Knox, KY while my husband was in the army. That was 1991-1994, before Nicholas, and before my older son was in school. I just wanted to let you know we really enjoyed living there. VERY beautiful, and the winters are so much milder than ours up north!! ;D
Hope all works out for you guys!

www.education.ky.gov/KDE/Default.htmThere is KY's dept of ed.. for starters... what city you looking around? We could find you links for school districts if you knew some cities you are intersted in. Also, if you know the cities, call the districts and just start asking questions and get a feel for their district. Good luck!!!!! A.

I didn't even leave until I was 30.LOL I will probably die here.LOL I only moved because dh said he would move without me. He was tired of shacking up with his wife's parents.LOL ;D Good luck to you.

Thanks to you all! A~You are such an over achiever! The link looks awesome, I've got to set aside some time and try to figure out school district/neighborhood lines etc.
Annette~Yesterday and Sunday I was anti-moving, today I talked to someone who has cousins in KY and they LOVE it, and she had a lot of great things to say....so today I'm a bit more comfortable......doesn't mean I'm starting to collect boxes yet!
Susan~If we get down that way, I'll look you up!
Valerie~Thanks for the nice comment about KY.....I'm storing up all the comments to help make a decision......the climate change......whohoooooooo! Winters there sound dreamy!
Thanks again. Dawn
