Well after much coaxing and bribing (many of you unomasers will recall the reward for teaching Katie to say mom), Katie did learn to call us mom and dad.
And on occassion we are mommy, daddy, mother, father and Cathy and John. All depends upon her mood.
When she really wants our attention.. she will say in her loudest voice "HEY! MOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM I TALKING TO YOU!!"
Gotta love her!
Hugs,
Cathy

OMG! Girls you made me LOL! And again - see - your daughters are better with their speech. Well, maybe some day I'll post that Luke is calling us at least some funny names. Thanks for giving me your advices.

Made me LOL too!! Too funny. Andrew doesn't say any words yet......but you would think he was brought up by a pack of wild dogs the way he has his "growling" down pat.

Raven is 7 & still nonverbal. The closest she has come is "ah da" for all done.....she defintiely has that one down pat!!!! I've have noticed here in the past year she has been mouthing words but no sound is coming out. Hopefully, someday I'll hear mom too as for autism.....it is really the 'lack of intent' to communicate.

I don't remember the age when I talked but I was told I was late in talking. I remembering saying the usual Mommy or Daddy. Now I just say Mom and Dad. I was never taught to say their names. I know some children call their parents by their christian names but I could never do that.
