A., that whole sweeping the membranes things was.....interesting. Ouch! Had a doctor visit this am, and they said if I don't go into labor by Friday, they will induce me. Woo hoo! The end is in sight.
However, after the membranes were swept, I started having contractions, and they haven't stopped, so MAYBE this will be it.
Kristen, ROTFL! I actually like cranberry juice, and if this labor thing starts to stall, I'm headed out for the castor oil and cranberry juice. That's a good idea!

Ummm, Yeah, it was the first time I had the membranes stripped. I've gone early the other times, so it was never an issue.
Okay, as soon as Rod gets home I will WALK! Are you kidding me with this? It isn't going to be any fun at all. What I really need is a NAP! I got very little sleep last night and I'm tired. And hungry. And cranky. And Mom, I need a drink of water. Are we there yet?
Sorry, am I sounding like a little kid? ROTFL!

No. I am not kidding... do I sound like I am kidding? LMAO! Walk around the house in the mean time! With Russell.. my midwife wanted to induce me so SHE could deliver Russell (we had bonded over the whole DS thing ) BUT.. she had said if they are too busy, I'd get bumped off the list so.. since I had to see her that Wed before she stripped my membranes.. and by Thursday I was in labor! And that was a good thing..because by Fri AM when I was to call, I was far enough along to come in.. they said I would have been bumped off if I wasn't in labor. With Reece... it actually took 2 strippings to work But it did work quickly the second time.. and by the 3rd child I really realized how much walking can help that stuff along! My whole neighborhood watched me walk around the block and school while in major labor LOL Don't forget to breath!!!! A.

Thank GOD she is finally on her way to the hospital!!!!! Guess that stripping of the membranes thing worked, huh?!! LOL
A. - for what it's worth, although I have no prior experience in this, I do have to say that I agree with you on the walking advice. Right now when I am walking around I feel so much more pressure down below, like it's pushing her out or something! Also, my cousin who has had 6 kids, she walked ALL THE TIME and spit every one of those kids out on time and in less than a half an hour! I always said when I got pregnant I would walk all the time like she did, but, alas, a person can never really change and I simply do not like to exercise that much! LOL

YEEEEHAAAAA!!!!!! Laura's having a baby!!!! WOOO HOOO !!!! Jessie, for lack of a better way of putting it.... it's medically proven that walking makes the baby not stick to your sides! LOLOL I realised after 3 kids that NOT walking and going to lay down was probably the worst thing I could have done when in labor with Regan. Since I am natually a slow laborer, when the contractions were like 10 minutes apart.. they were ok , pain was starting to get to me but not time for the hospital.. so I layed down because it just seemed like the comfortable thing to do.. you know..you have mentstrual cramps so you want to go curl up in a ball type of thing? Well... laying down only prolonged the whole thing. Then with Russell although I didn't walk around, I was more active, went to dinner in the early stages (not knowing actually), then slept a bit.. got up in the middle of the night..took a shower, by then I knew i was in labor.. but I still probably layed around more then I should have.. but it was not like with Regan.. then with Reece I was bound and determined to walk LOL. What they always say is that walking also helps with the contractions pain but I could never THINK in that frame of mind with the first two... so with Reece I got up, took a shower, stayed active.. went on the computer (ask other Unomasers then know I was here typing away while in labor with Reece LOL) and then they were 10 mintues apart... so I said.. let's go for a walk. I walked around our subdivision and elementary school.. the whole neighborhood and school saw me and they will always remember that! LOL.. They'd see me walk and stop.. and walk and stop... when I could focus I would walk THRU my contractions which I noticed helped in the pain.. but man it's hard let me tell ya.. but that walk got me from 10 minutes apart to 3-4 minutes apart! ;D and OFF to the hospital! So..it is definately worth it! Oh..and Jessie... it's been already said but no matter what pain you feel.. it is TOTALLY worth every second of pain, panting and grunting! ;D

OMG!!! I so wish I had gotten here sooner!!! I love it when people have babies - probably b/c it's not me anymore, lol. No, seriously, THAT worked like a charm w/ Paige, with the other, it was walking walking walking after the membrane strip - and boy does that hurt.
Maybe Laura has a baby by now???

Jessie, That is true that walking is the best thing during labor. I had never had any epidurals or so... but that is my body, other may be different. Anyway, you are getting close to you due day. Right? I am wishing you the best! Alice
