For all those who are considering the transition to a "big" bed, here is some encouraging news! Ethan has done wonderfully since we converted his crib to a day bed. The first couple of night he got out of bed three or four times in the first twenty minutes, and woke several times and was standing in the doorway of his room (couldn't go any further because we put a baby gate up).
Over the last four nights, he has only fallen out of bed once, and we put him back in and he went right to sleep. The other nights, he hasn't so much as made a peep. I was soooo worried about this, and it seems it was for nothing. He stands at the gate in the morning calling "Mommy, want cereal". LOL!
I'm almost thinking we should try it without the gate, and see what he will do when he wakens, although my money is on him coming to get me for cereal, or going out to the living room and turning off the TV.
We had really dreaded this though, and apparently for no good reason. Who was it that said that all we had to fear was fear itself? LOL (I think it may have been JFK)

Well Done Laura... sometimes all is takes is a little effort... sometimes though it takes a lot. Lucky for you things are working out, and YAY for YOU!! and Ethan.
I am having some funny feelings today Laura... met up accidentally with 3 friends who are pregnant, the only soap I watch, the preggo character gave birth tonight, and I had a dream about a baby last night.... Toooo many pregnant/baby thingys to be co-incidence... there is a message somewhere...
I am hoping this sequence of coincidences is all for you! Cause I am sooooooo waaaaaaayyyyyy past any Baby stuff... in fact... I have just this week sold some of my baby stuff, and the rest is going in the Garage sale in a few weeks!!...I am THAT much PAST Babies...
LOL... BUT I am hoping for you tonight !(Fingers XXXX)

Glad to hear Ethan is making the adjustment. We did decide to go with a 4-in-1 crib as well, I just ordered it a couple of days ago. Here's a pic:

Laura... glad your transistion is going MUCH smoother then mine. But then again, you didn't do the conversion in the midst of a nasty cold/sinus infection in your child Next time my husband says it time to convert.. I will have to assess things differently LOL... No harm no Foul on my end...it's the same sleep stuff going on whether it was the crib or toddler bed. LOL... so... nothing has changed... I did realize though he is sleeping just fine and not falling off.. from what I can tell. I don't know if I'd know he fell out anyway... he'd just wake up and come get me anyway.. like always! Jessie... VERY pretty!!!!! I love it!!! Enjoy!!!! A.
