Yup, I went early - yeeeeee haaaaaaaaaa!!! ;D
Wednesday night about 1:00 I woke up with major cramping and discomfort. At about 3:00 my water broke so we went to the hospital. After we got there my labor pretty much stopped. So, most of Thursday morning was spent just hanging out in the hospital waiting for things to start moving. They didn't, so they started me on pitocin at around 11:00. At around 3:00 I started getting really good, consistent contractions. Started pushing around 7:00 and little Miss Ellie was born at 8:56 pm. The cord was around her neck and they were a little concerned about the way she was "grunting" while breathing. So, she had to stay in the nursery that first night to be monitored, but all of her levels stayed where they needed to be and she got the all clear the next morning (8 and then 9 on Apgar).
Here are the stats:
Ellie Lynn Brannon
11/03/2005 @ 8:56 pm
5 lbs 14 oz
18" long
YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAA - Yup, you read that correctly, only 5 lbs 14 oz.!
She's adorable. It's amazing how you can love someone unconditionally the very first time you lay eyes on them!
Big brother is warming up to her. Yesterday he came up to the hospital and my sister stayed in the room with the kids while me and Brian went to have lunch. When we were there Jason wanted nothing to do with her. However, my sister said once we left the room he went up to Ellie and tickled her and then kissed her forehead! Awwwwwwww. Now that we are home he is irritated when she cries, but otherwise he is being the helpful big brother.
So . . . as far as your guesses go, I really tricked you guys and came nowhere near where anyone guessed! Carolyn was the closest on the date with guessing 11/10. Alice picked the smallest weight of 7 lbs.
Geez, who knew I was going to have such a little tatcher . . . they had me thinking I was going to have a monster child!!!!
I'll post pictures soon.
