Hey all,
I've been off the board for a few days now. My dad died on Sunday after having a massive stroke. It's strange, even when you know the end is near, you aren't remotely ready for it. The stroke wasn't something we expected, he had other issues that were terminal, but I never believed that we would spend these holidays without him. Today has been very difficult, and I am dreading the funeral tomorrow.
Many of us will be seeing our families today. Hug them ALL, even the ones who drive you crazy. My dad and I had a very difficult relationship, but we had made our peace with each other. I am thanking God for that now, because he never regained consciousness after the stroke.

Laura, I'm soooo sorry. I know from experience that even if you're expecting it, it doesn't make it any easier. At least your dad got to meet that new addition of yours before his time came. I always regretted that my dad and Nicholas never knew each other.
Prayers to you and your whole family as you get through this time.
