The kids are at school, so I had a few minutes to introduce my family. We have 4 children. Yes David and I have done our quota for population. ;DRon,26 a musician and restaurant manager in Ottawa, Francois,21 college student in Conselling for Youth Worker, Savannah,6 the queen of this household and Adam, 5 born with DS. We knew before he was born that he had DS, did not change our opinion. I believe in public awareness, so I wrote a poem which was published, a book called No Sugar Coating which I hope to publish soon, I also give elementary school presentations for grade 7-8 on the subject.I hope to expand and do more schools next fall. I have done 11 schools last year from our district, but the budget is getting tighter. It is all done on a volunteer part. Never want to teach this age group. I am also on the Board of Director for our local Communitty Living and on the Board of Education for special education. We have learned lots more from Adam then we have actually though him. All my children were gifts from God and are treated as so. We are from a small communitty of 5000 from Northern, Ontario where Adam is the only DS child. So education is important for us and him. Getting the services needed are sometimes a battle as they have to travel 1 and 1/2 hour to our town. But a fighter I am and he does get the services needed. The best attitude is not to take NO for an answer. Talk to you all next time. Glad to have found this board.

From our experience.. I agree..Gabe's gonna get his services . You will LOVE Uno Mas...can't wait to hear more Adam stories and learn more about your family!!
