Anyone seen this movie yet? I was pretty leary when I first saw the previews at the theater. I really hoped it wasn't a film that had tons of "retard" jokes. I haven't seen it, but was doing some research this morning and read that NDSS and Special Olympics both support the movie. I was just wondering if anyone had reaction to it... Here's the NDSS statement about it: www.ndss.org/content.cfm?fuseaction=NwsEvt.Article&article=1545Jenifer, mom to Joy

On the Teens and adults site...a woman from Canada posted that she took her older son with DS and he liked it....she was rather "so so "on it...herself...says its a guy movie targeting the market of teen boys she thinks. I don't know if her "so so" was just that it wasnt that good or that she was somewhat bothered by it.
Ed my hubby was on the Texas Special Olympics State Board for a number of years and last year they got all sorts of hype for it. He really wants to go see it....I told him I have no doubt we will all laugh...but that hearing "others' laugh I am afraid might tend to upset me wondering WHAT they are laughing at or about...But...I am sure we will be going.

I haven't seen it yet, but I have seen the previews, and I gotta say, I felt alittle "quesy" about the whole thing. I mean, the previews showed some really funny scenes, and it looks like everyone is having a ball, but I'm not sure how I will respond. Just gotta wait and see.

I took Kyle and his best pal Kameron Friday to see it. Me??? I thought there were a few cute funny parts... just not that funny. Not offensive though at all. LOVED the comraderie of all the folks who hung with Jonny knoxville. Reminded me of thepeople here in the adult teen group.FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY!!!! Not a movie I would've chosen but the kids lovedit and the topic was good.Personally I loved the part when they were gonna let pout the dog and that great actor with the big glasses and eyes making that vicious dog face..LOL

I haven't seen it yet, but my 17 yr. old did yesterday he said 4 adults walked out in the beginning very upset. He said he was also a little uncomfortable in the beginning but, since he knew special Olympics and ndss were supporting it he stayed and said it did get better and had a "good lesson" but was afraid that a lot of people might be offended like the ones he saw and not wait to see how it ends......... We are planning on seeing it sometime this weekend. Monica

I have read a few reviews that say the movie falls short as a MOVIE...nothing bad about the subject...just that it should have been a made for tv show...but like most of you...I still intend on seeing it...although not really looking foreward to it.
