Hi Everyone!! I have missed reading all the posts and have tried to pop in to read every now and then. I started taking some college courses again... so my time is - well, what time? LOL! A - you cracked me up in some of your recent posts ;D ;D ;D ;D (is that too many ?) CC - cool about your little character and the car keys!! Jessie - how is that baby doing? I know I have posted about speech a little here and there. Ryan uses some signs and we haven't really pushed to increase them. His articulation is very poor, and he probably is communicating verbally at about a year - he's 7. We had an evaluation for a device about two years ago. The lady who performed the eval was an IDIOT and recommended a 6 page talking photo album... seriously. So I gave up on that and just tried to read more, talk more, sign more - but the progress has been too slow. I decided to get an independent eval and called around (even posted here for help) and found someone in Pasadena that specializes in augmentative devices. After much phone-tag, I spoke with her (Cindy Cottier) and she just happened to mention that she is on contract with my school district - Yay! To make a long story short, I called my service coordinator, asked her how that child find program was coming along (a friendly reminder that I haven't forgotten about the principal losing my kid) and two hours later Cindy was approved to do the eval. I should get the paperwork today. I will keep you guys posted! Jodi

Hi Jodi - I've been wondering where you've been lately! Glad to hear things are going well.
Thanks for asking about baby girl - she is doing great. She is sleeping well at night, but not AT ALL during the day. I'm going, ok kid, you are 2 months old, there's nothing I can do for/with you so GO TO SLEEP! It's like she doesn't want to miss anything.
Keep us posted on how things go with Ryan and the evaluation.
Jessie
