Thanks, Connie. And A. I was about to post what kind of a man would participate in any online support board?! But guess I'd better behave myself. 'Course, I do like quiche too, have actually been known to make a pretty good quiche. But not lately, most recent adventures in the kitchen have been bean soup, beef stew, and shrimp Creole. There are a few other dads who show up here from time to time, Steve Palmer (stevedp in London) , Wills Dad from Arkansas (sorry, don't know his name), and Clint (Evans Dad in Shreveport). But I wouldn't accuse any of them of making quiche. There are also a number of dads who show up on the old Down-syn listserv, listserv.nodak.edu/archives/down-syn.html , and UpsNDowns, health.groups.yahoo.com/group/UpsNDowns/ (started by nice lady Cindy Casten and her wacky air traffic controller husband Tim Casten, AKA Timbo) . and Downsyn forum, www.downsyn.com/forum/index.php , founded by Tom Paul. Oh, Dr. Leshin posts on the list serv and UpsNDowns sometimes, and has lots of links to lots of resources on his site, www.ds-health.com/ Don't know if there's a link there to DADS, Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome www.dadsappreciatingdownsyndrome.org/health.groups.yahoo.com/group/dadsds/Don't really know much about that last one, haven't joined. Whew, sorry so long. -- Bob

Oh, and how could I have forgotten Rob Kay? He's in Scotland. Just noticed gazborangers in Scotland. Rob Kay used to be chief resident wit on the Down-syn list but believe he has limited his activities to the other side of the pond for past several years. Used to do things like suggest people stop wasting their money on Nutrivene but buy fresh, oily fish and good single malt whiskey from him. Sorry if that offends anyone; in years past, comments like that would start a huge flame war on the old list serv. I once posted something about statistical risk numbers. And Rob Kay came back saying he had read that one out of five new babies would be Chinese. And, since he didn't speak Chinese and was too old to learn, he'd decided not to have any more children. He still may be rolling them off on the UK list, listserv.down-syndrome.net/archives/ds-uk.html or something like it. Dunno. His email addy used to be robkay@KIRKLODGE.FREESERVE.CO.UK Dunno if that's still good nor if he'd appreciate me posting it on a public board. But maybe he'd get a chuckle out of it. If you know Rob Kay or ever communicate with him, say hello from Bob Black. And I'd still like to get my hands on some of his single malt hoard. You don't have any good single malt whiskey lying about that you'd want to be shed of, do you? -- Bob

Mr. Gazborangers,
I'm Mitch, Will's Dad from Arkansas that Mr. Black spoke of in his earlier post. There are a few dads around this board, and it would be great to have some more.
My (Will)iam is now closing in on 15 months old, and getting into everything. This board has provided a wealth of information to me and my family, and I'm grateful for all the advice, opinions, and links that I have found through my visits here. Welcome to Uno Mas, and hope to see you around again.
I will disclose that I have eaten quiche, but only those little bite size ones at a wedding reception...when no one was looking.
-Mitch
