First, let me say- I'm soooo excited to find this group!! I'm a stay at home mom of 2- Samantha (6) & Wyatt (19months) with down syndrome. We didn't know that Wyatt was going to have down syndrome until he was born and what a surprise. But like a lot of you, you accept it and love them bunches. Wyatt has had ear tubes, adnoids removed, 3 cases of pneumonia to find out that he has slight aspiration, and today we went to the eye doctor. He said everything looked great except for his head tilt, so we have to go to another specialist for this. I hope to get to know some of you (I would say everyone but there is so many of you ). Bye for now!! Diane

Hi Diane,
Welcome!! You will truly love this board...great parents with great kids!
I'm Patty mom to 2 boys...Lucas is 4 and Justin, who has down syndrome, will be 7 months next week. I too did not know about Justin having ds until after he was born and YES quite a surprise. Almost 7 months later, I cannot imagine my life without him. Justin is very lucky in that he has no health issues.
I look forward to hearing more about you and your family. If you'd like to see a pic of my Justin, he's #81 in September 2002 photo album. I would love to see pics of your family also!
Patty

Welcome to the crew! I'm Shannon, mom to the "heathens", Shelby(4), Alicen (3), and Jamie (14 months w/ DS). You are going to LOVE it here. And, hard as it is to believe, sooner or later you WILL know almost everyone. I have never met anyone here face-to-face but I consider them all my friends. When I disappeared a few months ago during a rather rough time in my life, it was a friend from Uno Mas that called to find out where I was and if they could help. When i returned to Uno Mas, I found several posts expressing concern for me and my son. You have no idea how heartwarming that was to see.
Feel free to ask anything and let your feelings be known. Chances are, one of us has felt the same thing at one time or another.
Glad you said hello and can't wait to hear more about you and your family!
Shannon

Hi, and welcome to UnoMas! You will love being a part of this website, it's awesome (and can be addicting! ). I am Staci, mom to Aidan (he'll be 2 on Thursday!). He's our first and only kiddo, and we didn't know he had DS until after he was born, too. He's got such a little personality, and he's a joy! He's loved to bits. I hope to get to know you better, and see pictures of little Wyatt! Take care, and talk to you soon! Staci

hello there,
Welcome to Uno Mas. I am kind of new here, also. My name is Erica and I am a stay home mother to Nicholas who is 15 months old with DS. I didn't know Nicky had DS until after he was born either. There are a ton of great people here to talk to. I'm sure you will make lots of friends. Come to the chat room on Thursday and/or Sunday at nine. It was my first time on Thursday and I met a bunch of friendly mothers and one father. It was great. Well, hope to see you there.
Sincerely, Erica
