Ok... back when we lived in CA alot of my friends and even my next door neighbor played bunko. I thought it sounded SO fun and I would say "oh, how fun, sounds like fun" but no one ever invited me. I was kinda sad.. I wanta a girls night once a month to play bunko too! I was missing out on the female bonding and I LOVE games!
Then... we moved out to the midwest and I didn't notice anyone I knew that played. Thought it was some weird CA fixation... knowing full well others people in other states played it..but when you move from CA to the midwest you go from playing Bunko to playing WASHERS! Not that there is anything wrong with that... we got a washer game shortly after moving here... Kevin loves it! heehee
Anyway.. just recently a friend of mine I met through Reece's dance class...told me she played bunko. Again, "how fun!". Then a couple weeks ago her family and another family were over here for Chinese take out and game night and SHE INVITED ME TO BUNKO!!!!
Ok.. I know this sounds sappy.. but I was feeling left out man!!! I get to go play BUNKO tonight! I thought for a while no one wanted me or loved me! heehee.. I am feeling the love now!!!!!

A,
Why didn't you just start a new trend in the mid-west and invite all those ladies to your house to play a game of Bunko?
Really! I played it once and maybe the person officiating it didn't know the game that well, but it really wasn't much fun. Quite boring actually!

And I love rummy gin and tile style.. I just love games!!!! Valerie... I have never played bunko so I couldn't have invited them to play!!!! Actually.. I hate to say it but after I posted this... I realised there is a chance I might not be able to go.. we have alot going on and it's Kev and MIL's bday celebration tomorrow.. and I have alot to do and Reece is having a afternoon Valentine's party with girls from her class.. so I may have to pass until next time.. we shall see.

It is so funny you bring this topic up. My best friend and room mate from college relocated out to CA from MA shortly after we graduated. I miss her dearly. We have remained very close and I have even been out to visit. Well, she told me of this "Bunko" game she played with her neighbors. I have NO idea what it is...but have always been a bit jealous that she has new girlfriends and plays this secret game with them!! LOL.....Actually, I am glad she has settled down and made roots there and has new friends that are close by.
I'm glad you got the invite A...it feels good to be part of a group..and to have some girl time to youself!!
Hope you have a great time..and please let me know what this game is all about??

Ok...I am soo lost! I have never heard of Bunko or washers or Euchre (don't even know how to pronounce that one!! LOL!!!). Wow....I am soo out of touch!!! Well, I think someone should post the rules to one of these games so I can invite some of the Moms over to play. (Please pick the simplest one...LOL).
A.....Try to find the time to go. It sounds like so much fun! Feel the love A...feel the love!!!! -Trisha (obviously the one sitting home on the weekends lol!!)

A I agree with Trisha....you gotta go tonight! You can't turn them down on your first invite!
Rolling the dice is the least of it....it is the social outing, without kids, laughing, talking. On second thought, I'll gladly take your place tonight!

Ok.. Bunko is a dice game.. here is a link I found on set up, play, rules, ect.. hopefully this is how the rest of the world plays.. since I pilfered it off the net... www.gamecabinet.com/rules/Bunko.htmlEuchre is a card game.... it's pronounced the way Connie typed it but I believe it's spelled the way I spelled it.. so.. you say U-Ker. Although I have never played Euchre, I have watched it played and reminds me of some of the other games that are all alike if you break them down.. Hearts, Spades, Bridge, Ect...but.. that is just my own opinion.. there is WAY more to it actually. But when you start playing games with "tricks" and such... they all start to remind me of each other. Connie maybe can tell us more and I think Jackie, Justin's mom plays it online? Right Jackie? Or someone does when your IM is on LOL here is a link though I found.... www.pagat.com/euchre/euchre.htmlTrisha.. I think Bunko would be easier to learn and teach others if you are looking for simple. And washers.. well, I already did that link.. but you have to play that outside and have a beer in one hand LMAO It's the redneck version of horseshoes! LMAO I really want to go tonight.. but Kevin really wants to see about a new car we are interested in... so I don't know what I am going to do... but I will ask to play the next month if I can't go tonight and they let me! Well, A, I'm really glad for you that you got your invite, but I was thinking the same thing as Connie! I've lived in Iowa my whole life except 3 yrs in KY, and I have NEVER heard of washers! Are you sure it's really a "midwest" game? Maybe just a Missouri game! ;D

Ok.. I talked to my friend who invited me to Bunko.. they don't play until 8 or so.. so I can have Kevin drop me off if we can make it.. I think we can!
Also.. she schooled me on the washers stuff... LMAO.. it's a ST LOUIS THANG! heehee... WHO KNEW! We lived on the IL side of STL back when we found out about Washers.. so I thought it was midwest.. not STL... heehee....
Oh.. and Cbean.. I will gladly hand you a drink anytime girl! LOL

Several issues here: ;D 1. Washers??? I thought that was a made-up game when I watched something on rednecks once!! LMAO!!! Certainly NOT insinuating anyone in MO is a redneck or anything . . . 2. Bunko . . . I think we have played a version of that here and we called it Scream-O. It was SUPER FUN!! 3. Euchre - Trisha, you're too funny. I LOVE euchre - we have a group of girls (12 of us) that have a monthly euchre party. We take turns hosting the party each month. We have been doing this for 9 years now! It's mostly my sisters, cousins and a couple of friends. Our aunts (I have several) and my mom had a euchre club for about 25 years and we decided to carry on the tradition. Maybe we should try to strike up an on-line game of it so A. can learn how to play. A., if you lived closer I would invite you to be a sub for our euchre parties . . . does that make you feel better??! LOL Jessie

I have never heard of Bunco but I love to play games. I have nobody to play with here so when I go to Texas we play until the wee hours of the morning.
The big game in Michigan is Euchre. We have been to one Euchre party and I had a blast. Unfortunately, most Euchre players are pretty serious about the game and don't want to teach new players.
I love playing Mexican Train dominos. When I was in my late 20's early 30's, we played games with friends at least two or three times a month. Ahh.......life before kids.
