I just want to vent here and if it possible to ask your opinion, please. Last month we went to the dentist for Luke's treatment. I asked the doctor to use only laughing gas and not to use local analgesic, because of the last time bad experience (he bit his sleepy lip and bleed a lot at preschool). The doctor refused my wish and did the treatment with the shot of analgesic. As soon as I left Luke at pre-school and went to work, I've go the call that he bit his lip as the first time and was bleeding so badly. Of course I went to take him home. By the evening his lip became huge with yellow something inside (infection), we went to emergency and got an antibiotic. We will sure not to go back to that office, because for the doctor's comfort Luke straggled a whole week. I am so upset that I could not stop that doctor of making Luke a local analgesic. Thanks for letting me vent here.

Alice,
So sorry that happened to Luke!! I always have Kaden asleep during Dental procedures I would hate to see his mouth if he couldn't feel any pain.
The Doctor might have only been thinking about the risks of using the gas.
It's amazing that Luke can sit there with just the local to numb his mouth. My middle son Joonathan threw such a fit when we went to have his front baby teeth pulled that the Doctor wouldn't do it.
I wish I could take Jonathan to see that Doctor if he tried that with him I am sure he will get a good kick somewhere we wont talk about. Radonna

Hi, Thanks for wishing Luke to feel better! Luke is doing fine since that was last month, but he still has a little mark on his upper lip. I am very upset with that doctor, because he did not want to listen to me(describing him Luke's previous bad experience fortunately without infection). He used laughing gas and a local anesthetic. I think it is too much... We will find another doctor. There are lots of dentist here... The trick is to find a real dentist not just a businessman/dentist. Thanks for your posts!

I haven't had the nerve to take Sarah to the dentist yet and she is four. I did make an appointment for March for a consultation. We are going to a pediatric dentist who specializes in kids with special needs. Hopefully, he will believe me when I tell him that Sarah will have to be sedated to have her teeth cleaned. We just went to the doctor this week for an ear infection and we had to hold her down just so he could look in her ear. I can't imagine trying to check her teeth!
