Because I get all worried about things that never happen, LOL!
We've been playing musical bedrooms around here, because we added a master bedroom on to our house to make room for Aidan. We decided to put Ethan into our old bedroom, which is much bigger than the one he was in.
That meant a big change of scenery for Ethan, and lots of worrying for Mom. He has had this thing hanging in his crib since he was born, called the Nighty Nite Nature Light that he LOVES. It plays music, and projects a mobile on the ceiling. It can be activated by him, or it self-activates if he stirred loudly in the night. Even when we took the side of his crib and made it a day-bed, he still had his nighty-nite light. Rod and I were really worried about what he would do in his brand new big-boy bed (outfitted with Batman sheets) because there's no place to hang his crib music toy. Hubby was trying to find a way to mount it on his new bed, and I said, "Let's just see what he does first, K? He's four years old and maybe he can do without it".
OMG, I was soooo proud of my little boy! He climbed right in that bed the first night, and the only thing he asked for was his "ABC's" (Love and Learning Tape). He was asleep within ten minutes, and he has slept better in there than he ever did in the other room!
I waited a week, then went in the old bedroom yesterday, dismantled the crib, put away the Nighty Nite toy and started painting the room for Aidan. Ethan barely noticed.
So I obviously under-estimated my little guy because he was TOTALLY ready. I was worrying about nothing!
