Ryan finally got another evaluation, and this time they are recommending SpringBoard. Just curious if anyone has used this equipment. I'm VERY excited for Ryan. Reading the evaluation almost brought tears to my eyes, because the evaluator stated how excited Ryan was about using the equipment, and that he totally got the concept. VERY COOL! For those of you who are not familiar with this (like me ;D) but are interested in seeing what it is, you can go to www.prentrom.com and check it out. The school hasn't approved it... yet! Jodi

Jodi, I have never used that particular one. Chris is on his 3rd different Augmentative, this time its the "Say It Sam" Our district has paid for all of them, if its recommended to use, the district has to provide it. Chris has always had "Total Communication" in his IEP and this is just one of the areas we use One thing I have learned over the years using these is the easier it is to program the better chance you have the school personnel using it, KWIM. Jodi - Jason will be starting to use something similiar to this but I can't think of the name of the exact one they will be using with him. There are so many out there! Just at his school they had several different models available depending on the level of the student, etc.
Let us know how Ryan does with this - once you get them to approve it!
