Many of you regulars here know Chris has a heart condition aka Tachycardia (sp?) due to WPW Syndrome. Not a thing to do with DS and totally not something that is on the common list for ones with DS. He was born with it and something he has had to deal with for the last 13 years. We have twice tried to have it corrected but both times were unsuccessful
As much as I love his heart Doc I truly long for the day we can say nice to know you but BYE Chris met this Doc when he was 2 days old and honestly I never ever would think 13 years later we would still be seeing him.
Anywhoo back to the subject, we went for a visit today and being it has been 4 years since they last tried a procedure to correct this, he feels it is time to try again. He says its been 4 years and there have been many advances made since. He also said since Chris is still experiencing rapid heart and on meds it should be re-looked at. The past 2 times we have tried to have it fixed it has been tried at Children's Hospital in NYC. He said we may try it again there or recommend another hospital out of the area. I will know more in either 2 weeks or a month depending cause our Doc is going on vacation in a few weeks. Colin and I have talked bout this much tonight and decided we have to try if there is any chance we can correct this for our guy. Sooo at the moment I am sad to say Pittsburgh is on hold for us Being we own our own company in order to go to Pittsburgh we would have to shut down the company for a few days, which was fine, you are ALL worth shutting down for to meet BUT if we have to take time for this for Chris this summer, which happens to be our busiest time of year I am not sure what is what.
I have hope we will still be able to make Pittsburgh but can not commit at this time. BUT I am sure you all understand what our priorities have to be
I will let you know as soon as I know more and if you wouldn't mind a few good thoughts for Chris that this can once and for all be corrected, OMG what a GREAT thing that would be. Most times this is corrected pretty easy but with my LITTLE CHARACTER, nothing ever seems to go easy
This is long and if you read the whole thing HUGS to you
