her g/f when her friend asked her how it was having a brother with DS...
"How is it having a brother with down syndrome? it's not unlike having a little brother without it. it does get hard sometimes, like when my friends or just random people don't quite get why he can't speak normally. explaining it is always a little awkward at first but once i know their ok with it i usually relax. it's actually really fun sometimes too. like getting 2 volunteer and meet all of these cool people u would never think of. and getting 2 learn about a bunch of different special education things and sign language and about a ton of different disabilities, i wouldn't have chris any other way"

That is what true acceptance is. When I asked my sister about it once she said she just saw me and not my Down syndrome. That is all we want really. Kodie hit right on the nail. ;D
