Okay, had to share this. We've been working on using the potty with Ethan, and his reward is that he gets to watch TV when he goes on the potty. He was doing pretty well, considering that we had just started. Then he just stopped doing number two on the potty for over two weeks. I was stymied, and couldn't figure out what was going on with him.
I was trying to figure out what was different, and realized it changed when I got him a "better" potty seat that had steps so he could get up to the potty himself. The seat is different, the hole is smaller, and the seat is not cushioned.
I switched the seat back to the old one, and he immediately pooped on the potty! Guess he didn't like the new seat.....

Too funny! Does he need the newspaper too?
We have a great shot of my 5 y/o on the potty reading a book!

You know, it was just a good reminder for me. Ethan doesn't just suddenly change and refuse to do something for no good reason. Sometimes I get so caught up in the day to day that I fail to realize that SOMETHING is going on with him. The funny thing is that sometimes a little time passes before I figure out that somethings up, LOL!
Here's another for instance: Ethan LOVES his morning oatmeal. The only time he fails to eat it is when he's sick. A few weeks back, he wasn't eating his breakfast, but clearly wasn't sick. I couldn't figure it out for a couple of days, then realized that Dad had purchased 1% milk for his cereal instead of the 2% he's accustomed to. (the rest of us use 1/2%, I just haven't gotten him there yet!) I ran out, got 2% milk, and the next day he was a happy little boy again. Whew!
