My little guy is 8!! WOW where did the time go?
I wanted to share with you all the two gifts Ryan gave to ME today.
First, we (dh and myself) were at Ryan's school all day. We rented a jump house and made it an all-day party! The day started like they normally do... the kids sit on the carpet and quietly read books with each other. Ryan was sitting with his friend Taylor. It was so neat watching them interact and talk about the book. Ryan's speech is so unintelligible, but the kids have picked up on what he is saying and there is communication (AWESOME!!!!). Then, the teacher started asking some questions about the day. The wrote some sentences on a big piece of paper on an easel. Ryan raised his hand, answered questions and participated in writing. This was the first gift. He was a part of the classroom and fit right in. Very cool!
The second gift... you people will probably laugh, but Ryan got a gameboy for his bday present. He loves it already. He locked himself in his room and was playing for about 10 minutes. Next thing I know he comes running out of his room, stops at my door, does an about face, goes into the bathroom adjacent to the hallway and shuts the door. 1 - Ryan NEVER goes to the bathroom unless we ask. 2 - Ryan NEVER shuts the door, and seldom does his business without asking for help. I peeked in after a couple of minutes, and there he was on his throne taking care of business (and let's just say I knew instantly he was successful!!). A little icky, but hey, I LOVE present #2 .
So yay for my big guy on his big day! Way to go RYAN!!!! I absolutely adore you kiddo!!
