I can not believe Andrew is sick...AGAIN!! Yesterday he was fine all day, went down for a nap, woke up had OT (which he was very unfocused durring). After OT he sat with me and watched Barney (he NEVER watches tv). While sitting with me, in about a 5 minute time period, he spiked a fever of 102.9!! I gave him some Advil which took the fever down, and he slept through the night. He woke up this morning just fine...no fever at all. We went shopping and came home for lunch. He was fine all day. He went down for a nap around 1 o'clock this afternoon. He usually sleeps about 20 minutes to a half hour. I had to wake him at 4:00!!!!! That's 3 hours and he fell right back to sleep in the living room! Again he spiked a fever. Ugghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's nicer weather now and I just CAN NOT believe he is still getting sick! He usually doesn't get fevers but man........I need a break. I'm at the doctors so often I told them I didn't know whether to invite them all over for dinner or ask for a pay check. I don't actually know whether I should call the Ped or not because so far he only seems to spike a fever after his naps in the afternoon. He seems fine all day. With my luck, I'll take him in and he won't have a fever or anything. Isn't it strange he only gets sick in the afternoon? ***SIGH**** Thanks for letting me complain guys! -Trisha

Trisha.. I can only speak for my experiences with my kids... all of them.. but if they just have a fever and nothing else.. spikey or otherwise.. I don't go to the doc right away. Alot of times it's viral.
Now.. some kids get ear infections,ect.. my kids do not.. so 90% of my kids fevers are either thr flu and/or viral something and a doc can't do much about it.. so I don't go unless it's for a long time (days) and things like they are overly lethargic, not eating or I should say not drinking... ect...

Complain away Trisha! That's why we're here! I'm sorry Andrew is sick again.........even if it is an "odd" sick! I hope he's back to normal quickly!

Awww hope ANDREW is feeling better PRONTO. Our Ped office is real cool and they have nurse there all day just for calls from Parents with questions. If your unsure weather to bring him in how bout maybe calling them, explaining the symptoms and see what they say, just a thought CC ~

I'm the same way A....I usually give it 72 hours before I call the Ped's office ...although....CC, you do have a good point about just calling for advice.
Andrew is napping now and if he wakes up with another fever....THAT'S IT! I'm calling the PED right away. Again, he seemed fine all day today.
I was explaining how "unfocused" he has been to his therapist this morning and don't you know....Andrew actually sat and did a puzzle for the first time EVER! I swear this kid just likes to make a liar out of me. This was the most focused this boy has ever been! ugggggh...
Some of you guys need to move near me just so I have someone to go out and have drinks with! I could sure use one!!.....or two or three.....
