CC..... Saw the post where you mentioned that you hoped one day Chris would live in community like Pathfinder. Oddly enough, last fall a friend of mine and I kind of "ran away" from life and took a day trip out to Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. Yup, two gals who just loved the game married to guys who could give a hoot about it!!! Anywho, we picked up some cookies there to tide us over on the 2 hr ride back to Buffalo, and they were made by people who live in Pathfinder!!! We asked the gal in the giftshop if she knew how to get there and got directions. I have to tell you, it was the most beautiful and amazing place I have ever seen!!!! Every one we talked to, both residents and staff, just raved about the place!!! We spoke with one young man w/DS who I'd say was about 25 yrs old and had been living there since he was 9!!! He was soooo funny and personable, and told us that he dreaded when he had to go and visit his family in NYC!!! Said they babied him too much, after all he was an adult and could pretty well take of his own self!!! After seeing the place, I can only dream that someday Alison will be able to live in that type of setting and tell people that DH and I baby her too much!!! Here's the website for the Cooperstown Cookie Company that sells cookies made by the residents of Pathfinder Village..... I'm planning on ordering from them for out of town gifts! Yummy cookies and help support Pathfinder Village, seems like a win/win deal to me!!! www.cooperstowncookiecompany.com/index.aspBarb PS.... Will we be seeing you and yours in Pittsburgh next month?

Excuse me for butting in here... I'm glad to hear you liked it that much. I checked out their website after CC mentioned it and I was really impressed, but many things look better on the web than they are in real life. I wonder what it costs to live there as an adult. It seems like it could be a great place to live.

WOW how cool BARB that you got to visit there. I have never personally been there yet but 2 of our friends have sons in their 20's and they both live there and just LOVE it. Sadly its very pricey, like in the area of 40,000 a year or more BTW one of our friends son works in the bakery area THANKS for the site info and sorry to say girl NO we will not be making Pittsburgh as I had hoped. Chris has to go up there just a few weeks after the Uno gathering to CHOP and with all this construction going on around here and people in and out of my house daily, we just can't make it Hopefully one of these UNO gatherings I will actually get to attend CC ~
