Hi. Im tracy, mom to two, Keyrah Lynn (9/9/00) and Anthony "Bub" Patrick (6/5/02) who was diagnosed (loosly) monday with Ds. I say loosly because our tests heavent come back yet, but they are sure thats it,a dn so are we. He is 9 months old. Odd I know, but he wasnt diagnosed at his first dr appts (he was a homebirth) adn he had problems getting him on our uinsurance, so we just got a diagnosis. He has a Slight heart murmur were waiting to get checked out (waiting on referral). ECI came for our first visit Friday, and that went well. She was really impressed with what he can do already, sicne we have been workign with him. He is a tiny 13 lbs, 4 oz. and 25.5 inches long. Everyone says he looks like a perfectly normal 4 months old.. lol.. at 9 months of ocurse. He is oput special littel guy, and although I have long ago accepted it, I am still on my ups and downs. Um, lets see. I always forget what else to add. Lol... If i have forgotten anything, just ask. Oh, I am an Army wife, whose hubby just got back from Korea.. and am currently living back homein Texas. In a few weeks, hubby will be national guard. Ok, I think thats it. Im going to include 3 links.. to lots of pics! Please excuse the typos, im nursing at the keyboard.. yes, nursing.. lol www.girlconnection.net/family/family.htmlwww.girlconnection.net/family/newpics.htmlwww.girlconnection.net/family/morenewpics.html

Welcome Tracy and Anthony!!!
Hugs to you and yur family! You have a beautiful family and thankyou for sharing your photos with us.. We just love to look at pics!
Sounds to me like you are getting a good grasp on the situation and you have come to a wonderful place for support and information. These moms, dads, grandparents and friends have helpped me to learn all the positive things that out kids can do and teach us!
Oh yeah, I am Cathy, mom to the Princess Katie who just turned 2 and her always challenging 4 year old sister Emily. We live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and let me tell you... there is not much in the way of support here. Uno Mas has been a life saver for us!
Hugs to you and please be sure to post and let us know how Anthony's Cardiology appointment goes!

welcome tracy!
my name is jen, and my daughter chloe was a homebirth too. it took a month before she was diagnosed. both my midwives were pretty surprised about the diagnosis because she scored so well on the apgar, but she wasn't gaining weight so we took her to a dr. who suggested genetic testing. it was very tough to accept at first, and we were all in denial. but once the results came in, we realized it wasn't going to be as bad as we thought, and have found great support. this site is wonderful. i am fairly new to it, but i check in almost every day and find so much good information.
you have a beautiful family!

Anthonys Apgars were 8 and 10, so i understand that. (we had a doula who was in training to be a midwife there as a friend... ) How lucky for you to have a homebirth... it is a wonderful thing isnt it..?

Welcome Tracy and Family! What a beautiful family you all are - great pics! I can see how they missed the DS on Bub: his eyes aren't nearly as slanted as my Jeremiah's! LOL! A couple of visual tests they did in the hospital (I was too much of a scaredy cat for home birth! LOL!), was a single life-line across his hand, and his big toe was separate from the other toes. There's some famous picture, I forget the name of it, with Jesus and his toes are like that, too! Anyway, I digress. I'm divorced Mom to Jeremiah, whose 6 years old and full of energy. We live just outside of Chicago, and we've been posting to the Uno Mas board on and off for 3 years. You will LOVE the family here, and you will learn SO much! Welcome! - Carol and Jeremiah www.babiesonline.com/babies/j/jeremiahhill/
