Yup, it's that time. Emily has been a little boring for a while. LOL. We're scheduled for surgery on 11/29. Good bye Tonsils, good bye adenoids - hello tubes!!! Ugh. Timing just stinks, but I'm anxious to get those decrepid tonsils out of her!!!

I'm sorry about the timing, but my son was so much healthier when his tonsils and adenoids were finally out...actually, so was I.

Cbean,
You will notice a big difference, especially if she's been snoring...Eric sounded like a freight train...now he just breathes normally. Hope all goes well! Keep us posted.

Oh, well. At least it'll give you something to do. We waited a long, long time before disposing of Charlie's tonsils and adenoids. And agree with Dolly, Charlie slept much more quietly. Think the T&A pretty much cured his OSA. We had his done by an excellent ENT at CHOP. But unfortunately had it done when Charlie was sick--very bad cold, flu, bug, URI, RSV, something--got Charlie a long weekend under an oxygen tent at CHOP. Not recommended. Is Emily going to CHOP for this or staying local? You've got almost a month to worry about this, and keep her well in the meantime. Please keep us posted. Anything we can do? -- Bob

Lauren had it done in 2004. It made a huge difference. She is going Monday for her 7th set of ear tubes. Good luck!

Hmmm...we have an appointment the end of Nov to discuss T&A so I would love to hear your experience and see how it goes. I think we'll probably hold off as long as we can because Andrew doesn't do so well health wise durring the winter months. Please keep us updated. I would love to hear from you. Good luck!!!

(((HUGS))) I hope it all goes well for Miss Emily. Aidan has had about 4 sets of tubes...and is now on T-tubes, which are permanent until doc takes them out. Parker has had one set, working their way out (it's been a year, I 'm surprised they've lasted this long!). I was contemplating getting Aidan's T and A out...he's not having any sleep apnea, though, so that's good. I was just wondering if it'd help him sleep with his mouth closed, breathe better, etc. I'll be thinking of Emily...good luck! Staci

Good luck to you guys. Justin had the T&A, uvuloplasty, partial palatoplasty done in 2004. He had a rough go of it....11 days on the vent....., but well after the fact...his airway is much better!!!!! He had been basically breathing through a straw and required continuous O2. We also got the tubes put in last year, but I think one or both are out now. We may have to have them redone soon. If you have any questions, I will do my best to help. I will be thinking about you all.

We'll be praying! You're right the timing does stink, but I bet you can't wait for her to be better!
