Anyone have any experience with Geo Trax, pretty sure Fisher Price makes it. I was thinking the train would be a good start for JT. I like that pieces can be added to it. Curious if it is easy to manipulate?
I also was looking at the the Leap Frog phonics train. He loves his other Leap Frog talking/singing toys. It can't be added onto though. Maybe not a huge issue, but it would be nice to have something that Grandma's etc could continue buying pieces for.

OH YES!!!! The GEO TRAX ROCKS!!! We got this for Logan when he was two(non DS) but I really believe that kids with all kinds of abilities would be great at this. It is a really simple switch to operate and even if it is not turned on kids can still run the cars on the tracks without breaking it. It is pretty tough and does not break easily. Logan has played with a LOT.Even his sister enjoys this and she is really not into cars(she's a girly girl) My husband built him a table to put it all on.The GEO trax can be added onto all the time and they keep coming up with new stuff to add all the time. I highly recommend this one!

I hope this is good...I bought the mega Geo Trax set for my grandson Max 4 this year!!!!
He wants to be a "train driver" when he grows up.

Chester - i know you already decided on the GeoTrax and I have to say this is a much better choice over the leap frog phonics train. although the music and words ARE helpful...it may be too much of an annoyance for YOU! Ours stays in its box in the basement and i drag it upstairs every few months - track comes apart easily and the train guy derails easily -- causing him to scream "we're of the tracks clang clang clang we're off the track!!! and i'd always have to go fix it as it wasn't so easy for the kids to get him on there exactly right.
so....good decision! lol! laurie
