Ok...Ready... My husband was wounded in 2004. It was pretty severe. He fought to stay in the Marine Corps and here we are in VA. The White House host a childrens party each year. This year they invited children who had a parent wounded or deployed to Iraq or Afghanastan. Here is the write up I shared with my family. Also one more photo.... Well, Amazing. It is truly the only word I can come up with to pin how I was feeling walking throught the White House. We drove from the base with 6 other families and arrived only to be escorted in our bus to the very front of the WH. We were able to walk through many of the rooms. They had Santa, cookies etc and a small performance for the children. I was literally sitting within arms distance from President Bush. Mrs Bush is just beautiful in person. They were both so kind and kept turning to talk to the moms behind them. They asked Lauren to sit with them but she wouldn't move. I threatened her with no McDonalds so she wasn't moving! after the performance Lauren ran for him and he looked up and heard me say "Lauren" he noticed my Marine Corps broche and said come here Lauren. He took a photo with her. Chris was in the back of the room but I told President Bush he was wounded and he said where is he...I pointed to the back of the room and he waved to the hubby. He said tell him and to you we appreciate you both and wish you the best in everything.

Thanks everyone. Here are a few more I thought you would enjoy. Lauren was a little hard to control today. A lot of excitment. We were having cookies and she just wiped her crumbs on the floor. The hubby told me to calm down. She was entertaining everyone. I was very proud though. She sat with all the other children and was really good. The Red Room Dad and Lauren dancing...the only two. Thank you for letting me share. It was a wonderful day.
