Really who wants the new insurance cards to just sit in your wallet, plus the fun of starting at zero for insurance deductables....sigh.
My 10 year old daughter...Grace, yes that is her name. Tripped over our St. Bernard yesterday (while teasing and chasing her brother...another sigh). She and I spent 6 hours in the ER last night, never saw a Dr, but a Physicians Asst. fine, fine just get me out! The PA just called and asked for Gracie to come back in, the radiologist found a break. I don't even know what bone it's in....back to the ER, with JT this time..........DREAD
Wish me patience.

Too funny. At least you are holding onto your sense of humor . . . for now!

Oh my, what a way to start the year. Hoping that it isn't anything serious. And whenever I'm having fits about my deductibles, I remind myself that I'm fortunate to have insurance when so many people don't.
Aren't I just a Pollyanna today?
Hope she feels better soon. Is the dog OK? LOL

Oh believe me, insurance isn't taken for granted in this house, it would have been nice to have gone past three of the new year to use it though.
I could have kissed the PA today, she took it upon herself to schedule the orthopedic appt for us, so no ER and we don't have to go back tomorrow to see the specialist. Because of the break, Gracie came out with a very heavy splint, which she wears for a week, then more x-rays to see what's next.
The dog is just fine. I don't even think she opened her eyes. Hannah, the dog, was so happy to be home, I had just bailed her out of the kennel. We were just at my Mom's who has a 7 lb dog, no tripping over that one, but good ol' 110 lb pounder, tripped right over that.

Gracie broke one of the bones in her elbow. Because of it being so close to her growth plate, they put a splint on it, for a week, then we re-evaluate in a week. Sounds like PT for sure though. She went to bed on her own last night before 7, that's unheard of. She's very independent and she's already tired of needing help to get dressed, take a bath, etc.
CC~Hannah is now 7 and her favorite activity is sleeping. She will open one of her droopy eyes to look at you. She will still get the thingyens in her and then she plays hard. She is very very sweet to people and she could care less what the kids do to her. Hannah, however, is a tough dog to have. She HATES other female dogs, she is a runner (and when she is running she hears nothing, we've been through training, etc. They think she was the runt, whatever that means.) She has a bad habit of popping out the screens in the windows of the house to stick her head out, in our other house she would jump out, in our new house none of the windows are close enough to the ground so she just sticks her head out and looks around. She is beautiful and she doesn't drool as much as some, but I do have to clean up drool splatter marks on the walls every few days. She is great to have around as our alarm system, no one messes with our house or property, if they only knew she thinks she's a lap dog.

I am so sorry to hear of your breaking in the New Year....literally. Sad, but also funny thing with kids and dogs. My 11 yr old son....5 at the time....did a similar thing. He jumped off the couch, over the dog and onto the floor.....but his foot rolled and broke his foot in 3 places!!!!!! I guess dogs and kids and furniture don't mix......no wonder insurance costs are going up!!!!! Anyone want to go bungee jumping???
