We've jumped on the potty band wagon too.
My little manipulator was potty trained this summer, then school started and we went way way backwards. Around Thanksgiving time, I got tired of it and put big boy pants back on him when he was at home. He has had one accident and some little leaks, but nothing major at home.
School though, oh no, he's got them figured out. I talked to the teacher yesterday again and told her that he initiates the "potty" sign when he has to go, no accidents, it's time to make him accountable at school. I asked if she would be willing to have him wear big boy underwear.
I see this not so much as toliet training, but as teacher training. I'm expecting accidents tomorrow as he tries to wear them down so they'll put a pull up back on him. I've told them to stand tough. I'm trying to look in the crystal ball to figure out what speech I need to prepare for the teachers......sigh. Wish I could be a little mouse in the corner tomorrow.

I just about put a pull up on JT before I left him at school today. The head teacher was there, but a new OT and a sub aide. He was in his hayday testing them out to see what they were made of. He was looking the OT right in her eyes and throwing the little maniupulative bears. I hung out to see what she was going to do, she just scrambled trying to pick them all up. I got involved, modeled how to make him look in your eyes, hand over hand to pick the bears up and a low calm voice. I told them all that he's going to test them all out to see what he can get away with and they had to be tough and consistent (the head teacher just giggles and says they'll be fine)....what a day for big boy pants......sigh.
Guess we gotta start somewhere.

Mercy, I give up....he came home dry, in the same pants as he went to school in...no problems. He had an accident in his car seat on the way home, and another one since we've been home. He hasn't had an accident at home for a long long time.

So then . . . the point of your story is about WHO needs to be tough and consistent? LOL Just kidding. At least he had a good day at school though. Jessie

LOL Jessie! I know I'm a softie, I'll admit it, but he and I already had an understanding about toliet training, we were over that, he's suppose to be testing the teachers not me.
I'm hanging tough. Big boy pants again today. It was the first time the private therapy place has had JT in big boy pants too. The one therapist looked petrified that I would send him without a pull up on. She was so surprised that he didn't have an accident.....yep she's a push over type too.
