Trisha is not home from school yet but a school official just came by to tell me that she will be late coming home because there is a police action going on in the area of her school and no one can get in or out. They don't know what is going on only that it's roped off. She said the kids are ok but they just don't know what is going on and how long it will be before they are allowed to leave. I sure would appreciate prayers that everyone stays safe and that they are allowed to leave and come home soon.

Trisha is home! We still don't have all the information as to what took place. The school they showed on the news was not her school so now I"m wondering if this was happening to more than one school at the same time. Very strange. Hope there will be more about it on the late news and I hope the school lets us know what was going on. All I know is that her bus driver said that a call about a child with a gun was received at the school and they were searching for it but didn't find it. That is the same information they had on the news about the other school. So strange.

Carol,
Inquiring minds want to know: What was the Police Action?
Glad to hear that Trisha made it home okay. Post up when you get a chance.
Hugs,
Cathy

I finally got all the details today. It wasn't Trisha's school that was under police lockdown. It seems after they picked Trisha up at school they go to another school to pick up two other kids. It was the other school that was under police lockdown and they wouldn't let the bus leave and they had to stay there for over 3 hours. It appears a call was sent in that someone at the school had a gun. They searched for over 3 hours but found no gun. She got home at almost 7 pm tired and hungry but otherwise fine. The bus aid and driver said she did real well. She always takes something on the bus as it's over an hour ride for her on a good day so she had something to occupy her. I was so relieved to hear it wasn't her school but it still is scary to think they get caught up in something like that just picking up more kids. She is bussed to a private school at district expense so she is normally on the bus for 1-1/2 hrs daily but to add almost 3 1/2 hrs on top of that I would have been whining! :-) I am just so glad that they didn't find a gun and that everyone other than being scared and detained were none the worse for it. If they find out who called 911 about a gun I sure hope they get the book thrown at them. The school Trisha goes to is an Autism School and the other school was a Developmental School. That explains why the school they were talking about on the news was different. All the calls kept referring to Trisha's school so that is what was so confusing.
