Well, ladies and gentlemen, about a week or 10 days ago, the schools in Tucson were closed. I got up, drove to work in the same amount of time it always takes me on surface streets to go nine miles, and saw about two blocks of hedges with a very light dusting of snow on them.
I know one business had it's entire staff call in to say they could not make it to work. Many bridges over our rivers (they are VERY small rivers) were closed. Most of those rivers are dry so I REALLY didn't get that.
I can understand if there is maybe even four inches of snow, but that wasn't the case at all.
Anyway, I went to work, everyone was there, and we put in a full day. I still never have figured out why anyting was closed.

I used to dread summers, but now that Clarice is older, I'm beginning to enjoy them again. There is more that she can do independantly and that makes things easier. Her little sister has also gotten old enough they can play with each other. I wonder how long that will last!

Day 4:
AUGH! The madness hasn't ended! Day four in a row of no school. Today we're waiting for snow.....WHAT?! You don't wait for snow, you go to school, go to work, live your lives. Then if the forecaster is right, when the snow starts you can make your decisions.
The first couple of days we made the best of it, we made paper mache, we baked, we read, etc, etc. Yesterday I let some t.v. into the day. Today, day 4, the kiddos are on their own.
I'm with you all who said that "no school" days are tougher than summer or vacation days. One "no school" day is a fun treat, start stringing them together....AUGH!
JT is sick. I think this is the first time he has ever thrown up. Poor little bugger. I over heard the two big kids talking about if this would have been a school day, JT would be able to stay home, then the light bulb went on in both of their heads, but one of them said it. 'maybe if they open school tomorrow, we'll be sick.....YESSSS!' SIGH!

We had school cancelled two days in a row here in northeast Ohio...frigid temperatures. And now Mr. Eric has caught that dang flu....horrible cough and extremely high temp.. and he was "crouping" last night. So we'll have a few more days off... and on Friday, he's off too, due to parent teacher conferences....so we can kiss this week goodbye!

FIVE DAYS?!!!!! Are you kidding me? ?? How are you keeping your sanity! LOL We had Monday only off. We expected that would close school on Tuesday because the temps were no different, but most all of the schools in the area were open. Jessie

Dawn, I'm feeling your pain!!! While we have not had any snow days we have had 2 hour delays for the last 4 days...UGH!!! And no they don't call them the night before they wait until 1/2 before you have to get the kids up and ready so you have to scramble to find something to do with them or call off work!!! I can understand waiting til the last minute to call school because of snow because we all know (especially those who live in Indiana) that the weatherman is usually wrong 75% of the time when it comes to predicting snow but they are usually right on (within a degree or two) when the call the temp for the next morning. I think I smell a conspiracy ....all those school leaders are just messing with us sitting back and laughing!!! Connie

Happy Dance! Back to School.
We had a total of 3.5 inches of snow and 11 days below 32 degrees.....to miss a weeks worth of school......sigh.
I found out last night that the high school boys had been going to school for basketball practice during the mornings school had been cancelled. Totally maddening to me! If the boys can drive themself to school for basketball, I think we could have all gotten through for school?!
Hope your delays end soon Connie! Spring weather can't be too far away now!
