LOL Steff!!! Andrew also has to have cabinets shut...all the time!! We just went to my SIL's house for a bday party a month ago. We got there early so I could help her in the kitchen, and Andrew kept shutting all the cabinets she had purposely left open!! LOL! Instead of helping her, I had to just take Andrew and keep him busy in another room! He also always has to shut every door upstairs...drives me nuts!
As for the car......I can't even go there yet...LOL! I have my hands full as it is!

Or he will just lock himself in the car so he can have a smoke . . . Jason did that last summer . . . beautiful moment I tell ya! Trisha - one thing to remember is that our kids are the world's BEST problem solvers! You have to always be one step ahead in the game. Jessie

WOW- in the car for a Smoke! Yikers..
Kaylee might do it for a candy bar...I think she'd cough up a lung if she smoke a cigarrette--she can barely handle gum sometimes because it makes a 'tickle in my throat'

Our pal can't stand an open door. It drive us nuts. She also likes to 'clean up' after us.
" What did you do with my car keys !?"

OK, don't want to truely scare anybody to death here but......
DO HIDE YOUR CAR KEYS!!!!!
My neighbors across the street include an 11 yr old gal w/ DS fondly called "The Bonster Monster"! When she was 5 yrs old she woke earlier than the rest of her family, got the keys to family Suburban, started the truck and shifted it into reverse!!! The beast rolled down their driveway, across the street, into my driveway and slammed into my car!!!! There was no damage to their beast-mobile but my poor little car didn't make out quite so nicely - needed a new bumper. Later the same week, Bonster Monster, her 6 sibs and Mom, my kids and I all went to the local beach. One of Bonnie's brother's ended up getting hurt (Bonnie's twin brother actually) so her Mom took her and went to get the beast-mobile ( I wasn't about to be left with 8 kids at the beach by myself especially since Bonnie loves to bolt!!!). When they came back, Mom left Bonnie buckled in her carseat in the last row of the beast-mobile and came to grab the injured sib. In the maybe 15 seconds that it took to cross the street, Bonnie got out of the carseat, climbed up to driver's seat and shifted the beast into drive!!! Truely was only a matter of seconds!!! Mom had left the beast running so of course it started to roll and gather speed. Mom and I are running along side, trying to get a door open only to see Bonnie laughing as she hit the power lock button!!!! Now we can't get in.... the beast is picking up speed until it hit a parked car!!!! There was enough of an impact that the airbags deployed - scared Bonnie to death!!! We were finally able to get in the back liftgate. Fortunately, Boonie wasn't hurt, just scared silly!!! There were some very amused police officers when it came time to do the accident report.... they'd never had to write on up involving a 5 yr old driver before!!!
Since then, I always make sure that my carkeys are in my pocket whenever I'm not in the car and I've made it a point to never leave any of my kids in a running vehicle by them selves. So please, keep those keys safe, I would hate for any of our kids to get hurt!!!

OMG Barb.... I remember you telling me once before about Bonnie reversing into your car...but not the beach story!! YIKES and Double YIKES!!!
Trisha...just to add to everyone elses...YES... LOCKS LOCKS LOCKS....and HIDE the Keys!! Sleep with them under your pillow even!!
Lewis started opening doors and escaping BEFORE he could even walk!! so this is one thing I DO have experience with!! Maybe we could start another thread about all our "fun" escape experiences...I know I have a few Doozies!! But not as good as being out on the streetcorner in my Lingerie!!
We have been working on "Boundary training" much like MB suggested... Have been at it for nearly 2 years now... Lewis is "good" at it... When we go somewhere we need to point out and establish a "boundary" we have established boundaries at school and home etc, and Lewis is told he is not to go past the boundary, he is then asked to show us the boundary and what he needs to do at the boundary, just to reinforce that he understands his limitastions. He knows, he knows to stop etc, will tell us all the rules etc... We relax a little and keep an eye on him... he will "test" the boundaries and see if we are watching... he will approach and stop...look around...if he sees us watching he will turn away and go elswhere...if he think we are not looking....he is gone... Still have a way to go I think...
As for walking in on sisters in the bathroom...our girls started locking the door lately...Lewis has Broken the lock (one of those privacy locks in the handle) by using my keys to open using the emergency unlock (if you get what I am describing).. he has pushed the key into it too many times and twisted it all out of shape.
Good luck with you locks!!
