I only have one portion of his results right now, but it's the biggie.
And, you guys are right, never give up, don't worry about silly numbers, etc. I think I was worrying so much about the results because I have been pushing sooooo hard on some things that I figured if the results weren't there I was going to look like the evil step mommy for pushing him to do things he's not even capable of.
However, I appparently worried needlessly! Our meeting is Thursday, but the person who tested him called last night and gave me the results over the phone (will be getting the hard copy on Wednesday). He did improve overall in every area. The academic area wasn't so hot and he still is placed very low, but I'm not surprised at that at all.
The area that I was most concerned with was the social skills, adaptability, and daily living skill sets. Guess what? He improved soooooo dramatically in this area that she couldn't emphasize enough how impressed she was!!!! Yeeee haaaa!!! She was the same person that tested him 3 years ago when he first came here so this is a first-hand observation. 3 years ago in this particular area he scored a 6 (I don't remember the name of this scale, but it's based on 0-100 - a typical kid would score close to 100). This year? He scored 52!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 55 would have re-categorized him in this skill set as mildly impaired vs. moderately impaired. She said that she has rarely seen an improvement so dramatic, especially for his age - after 9 or 10 years old you just don't see that kind of a jump in numbers. THAT'S HUGE!!!!!
I also liked that she asked how we saw things before she gave me her results. She first off acknowledged that while testing is good, it is only a snapshot of his life and therefore she does like to get parents' input while compiling her report to try and get a better overall picture of his development.
So . . . I guess numbers are a good thing when they are good numbers, eh?!! LOL
Thanks for listening and being here for me. You guys don't even know how much of a part you all played in this for us and for Jason. See . . . I think I just needed a group hug!! LOL ;D

P.S. Guess it's time to reward The Boy and get that iPod after all. He's worked very hard and it's probably been really hard for him over the last couple of years . . . WTG Buddy!
